I saw a guy with this ram in his sign but I can't remember his nickname... Anyway I think It's a good ram for the M14x but not sure if you'll see the difference between the 1600.
-
got mine last night. running at 1866 WEI 7.9
-
i get 7.9 with the 1600 though
. It will really help the igp. If you actually want to game just on that.
-
interesting, i didnt bother to check the WEI before the swap. had to double check CPU-Z and its definitely running at 1866.
-
lol i dont plan on gaming on the IGP, unless it minecraft ofcourse..
I'm only getting 7.7 on the stock memory.
and i'm O/C'ed to like 102.2 -
its because it is higher latency than hyperx
-
HOw much does it cost ?
-
i payed 100$ for 8 gb 1600 mhz cat 9 lat ram they are selling the 1866 cat 11 for like 160$
-
For those wondering, if you bought the 8GB from Alienware, you will get a 7.8 on Windows Experience for Ram. I'm sure if I overclocked it, it would be 7.9 too.
-
Ok... I think these are the ones we want.

Yes it will work is it worth the 50% increase over the 1600 mhz Kingston that I do not know. Your going to be paying 50% more for maybe 15% performance which may not make a difference for any task, unless you plan on using the igp for gaming which is silly to spend that for this laptop.
Anyone running Hyper-X memory at 1866 Mhz?
