So awhile back i posted a thread about my sub woofer making crackling noise thinking there was something wrong with it. The field tech had replaced the sub woofer twice and still I had the same problem, I gave up and just removed it completely. the other day i decided to give it another shot and called tech support and I requested that the part be sent to me directly so i could install it myself. When i received the part I noticed they sent me two small silicon tubes when i saw them it all made sense; the field tech did not install these hence the rattling noise from the vibration.

Crackling as in when a loud noise is played it gets sort of raspy? I'm having the same issue, but it was not there before when I first got the system.

take the bottom lid off and wiggle your sub woofer if it moves alot then it might not have the silicon tubes cus I think mines never had them since the start and now they work perfectly fine. TO answer your question it was from playing loud music

Original file was too large, had to install Windows Movie Maker and edit it to be shorter...
