this is not a barebone...
i thought someone finally found barebones....
the question to judge your deal is: How much $$$? -
?
I left it completely standard except the 900p screen and blue tooth.... -
Barebones means just the case. So starting a Bare Bones thread would mean you found the case for the m14x for sale or something. Also this should go in the pre order discussion as theres about 15 threads a day on this, where pretty much people have the same exact config 75% of the time.
-
barebones actually includes the motherboard bud or its just a case.
Usually in the case of a laptop it will include screen, graphics, network, etc basically everything minus any add in cards, optical drive, memory or HD
graphics are excluded if its an additional addin card. m14x is built in so that would be included.
that is unless the gt555 is not hard soldered on the mobo -
Sounds good, I'm sure dual cores will be able to game for quite a few years to come (especially ones with HT)
-
Jruss, I belive what you ment to say was the base model + upgrades. I have the base model, the only thing that really needed a upgrade for me was the screen.
As for the three year warrenty that's your call, I find that one year is good for me as I replace my laptops every two years.
As soon as I buy the lappy I start saveing for it's replacement. -
i7 2 ghz would be worthed
-
Ok well sorry I'm not up to date on all this nerd lingo. I meant a base model and I think that was pretty obvious once you read my OP. If it offends you so much don't even reply to my thread. What do you have nothing better to do than troll this forum and correct people's vocabulary?
-
nerd lingo lmao. on a serious note, the only things I would deem essential upgrades from the base model is the screen & i7. The rest can be changed at your whim. A better network card is recommended by most though.
Just depends on what you plan to do with it and whether you mind getting your hands dirty doing any other upgrades yourself.
Just popped an ssd in mine yesterday without reading a tutorial and to be honest most things are well within 99% of the populations capabilities. -
wth
Just trying to clear up why everyone seemed so confused, and just trying to direct to keep the forum clean. If you need to dispute a post with me, you can PM me, but I don't think I said anything that would be even considered "mean"... -
I didn't say you were 'mean'. Your reply was condescending as hell though.
I don't really expect people to get condescending and pretentious on me on some random laptop forum. I'm just here looking for help and advice, not to be talked down to. -
I replied to say why people were confused at bare bones, which is help. And then I was giving advice on the fact that theres a specific sticky for this type of thing because I dont want the moderators to get mad at me
Then you said everything I said was "nerd lingo" on a computer forum and told me to "troll somewhere else"
I believe you owe me an apology. -

this is not "some random laptop forum"
-
depends on your definition of random
