    Maybe 4 hours or so to see the charge on my CCD. The AAFES site was down for about 9 hours. came back up around 11 EST
    Just Checked the AAFES site, the Price is now 706 but they extended the warrenty to 2 years so thats probably the price difference.

    They upped the price just as I was looking. In addition to upping the required warranty, it now includes Office 2010 Home and Student and it can't be removed. Also the CPU upgrade prices skyrocketed (nearly $300 for the 3610QM). Suckage.

    I actually think it might be as intended. While I was looking, the M14x was priced $10 cheaper than the base M11x (which makes zero sense whatsoever). It's still cheaper than buying the M14x plus the warranty and Office package they're forcing you to include would be from Dell's site, but the fact that you can't remove those supposed value-adds kills this for us.

    Still holding out hope, though. There's a few more days left in the promotion.

    Hey man I can help you.

    Go down to the local recruiters office and ask them for a DD From 4. Tell them you want to fill one out. That should get you access to AAFES. Then you can place your order once the S-1 shop processes your paperwork. DD Form 4 will qualify you for an AAFES account. It's pretty simple. Be sure to pay attention to Block E, subsection 15.

    If you pay paypal, I can get you a copy of a DD Form 4. Then you just need to fill it out and submit it to the local office.

    The base model is now $1062 on AAFES. :(

    People at slickdeals.com are saying their orders are being canceled. I hope they are only canceling the orders people placed that actually do not have proper aafes access.

    Cool, I was active Navy for 7 years and am now Navy reserve.

    Hoping my order doesn't get cancelled. Status says Order received by Supplier but there's no "Track this order through Dell" link yet. Also, my credit card isn't showing the charge yet.

    When did you place it? Mine STILL reads in process. Hope it doesnt get cancelled. My dad let me order it through there, hes a disabled vet. He's allowed to shop at the local AAFES so I hope he can online as well. It let him register with his social though so fingers crossed.

    Can anyone post a screenshot of what their order tracking and what not looks like on the aafes website? Minus the personal info and order numbers of course

    I'm active duty and placed an order through my AAFES account for the $554 configuration. So far so good. My CC was charged yesterday and the Dell Order Tracker has listed the status as "In Production" since yesterday as well. Estimated arrival date is 5/25/12. I'm very excited about this, really hope they don't cancel it.

    Damn- $1062 it is, and as a previous poster stated, this includes the 2 year warranty and MS Office Student Edition as non-optional options.
    "Member savings $354.25"

    So now we save 25 bucks and get a few "upgrades" for "free".

    A comparison brought up some interesting price differences on the options:
    upgrading the processor to i7-3610QM on the standard dell website costs $98, while dell/AAFES it's $219... :confused:

    I wish I had seen this a few days sooner!
