Hey guys. There isn't a store near me that carries Alienware and my hands-on experience is limited to my friend's M17x-R1, so I have some questions regarding Alienware PC's, specifically the M14x. My apologies for any stupid questions, but I hope that a few answers could help clear up nagging issues for prospective new PC owners.

Does the M14x have a removable battery? I'm not seeing battery options on the Dell website.

How upgradeable is the M14x? I'm mainly looking at RAM and the HDD.

For that matter, what is the default 256GB SSD included with the M14x? (It seems to look like the Samsung 470 series.)

What is the M14x's case material?

Does the M14x have an IPS screen? Does it have RGB LED backlighting?

Is the WiMAX wireless card worth the extra $$$? ( http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware-m14x/572571-wifi-question-6205-vs-6250-a.html)

Thanks in advance for any answers!

Answers are cheap, Good answers are 10 bucks, researched answers are 20 each and opinions are well...

    1. Answer one, battery is built in and non-removable like the m11x.
    2. Ram and HDD both upgradable. See my benchmark thread for links to the service manual.
    3. Not sure yet but it may be an OEM type samsung.
    4. Plastic
    5. No, and NO
    6. That's an opinion related question and I don't have a basis to respond so I will say "i dont know".

    Good Luck,

    Sorry this is incorrect.

Just want to clarify that WiMax included with the 6250 and WirelessHD are completely different things.
