ok so i love the m14x but i hate its performance when unplugged. for a laptop that states "dominate from anywhere" yet has to down clock to prevent from shutting down seems a little foolish.

i mean if i do return i will get the m17x because i would like a bigger computer.... do you think i have grounds to return?

i am out of my 21 day return but its under 2months old... help.

Once you are out of the return window Dell will not take it back for a refund and even if they did a 15% restocking fee would apply. Since it's been two months since your purchase there's little they will do for you other than to suggest calling tech support.

There aren't a whole lot of laptops that are designed to perform like they do when they are plugged into an outlet. Have you tried changing your power options while in battery mode?

I really don't think they'd grant you an exchange or a refund, you can talk to a rep about it, but i doubt it. The m17x will get you worse battery life for gaming. But since i take it you wont be gaming on battery anymore, it'll just be used for gaming at home. And since it'll stay at home, the m17x would've been better. Though i love my m14x, it's not hardcore gaming machine. If i could return, i would've gotten the m17x. I should have thought ahead. I have a small notebook that gets 8 hours of battery life anyways. The m14x barely gets me 3 hours with everything on power saver when word processing. Alienfx off and screen dimmed completely too. Oh well, m14x is still a great machine.
