Newegg.com - OCZ Colossus LT Series OCZSSD2-1CLSLT1T 3.5" 1TB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Wanna see how it affects performance and battery, and if it fits and such. All the norms
Best of luck (getting the $$$)

Lol... But it is 3.5" I highly doubt it would fit...
-
mmmmmm yum 1tb SSD
-
since when do laptops use 3.5" hard drives O_O
-
i got 2 of them running in raid 0 on my m11x, works great
-
i bet they are the same size as the m11x when side by side

I want the 5 seconds back of my life that it took me to read this thread.

srsly, that thing is 3K -
lol is this a joke? if not, just put the new elmcrest intel ssd in, i think the only way a 3.5 inch drive will fit in is if you take out the optical drive, and it probably would be too thick for the laptop's back plate.
-
Obviously a joke, I just found it looking to see if a TB SSD existed. Does anyone know if like those 10,000RPM drives would bring any performance increase? Im currently using a 5400RPM so Im sick of slow hard drives. I saw like a 10,000RPM for a decent price on newegg

Yes 10k RPM will be faster, 5400RPM is crap, you can see the difference between a 5400 and a 7200 RPM so you will see the difference with the 10k. It's not comparable to SSD but it's faster than "classic" HDD.
You can look there for numbers. http://www.extremetech.com/computing/80250-western-digital-velociraptor-hard-drive-review/3 and also there for 10000 RPM vs SSD http://www.desktopreview.com/default.asp?newsID=1007&p=2 -
Does it affect battery to have it running at a faster rate? (Im not too smart with hard drives. All I know is the RPM is how fast its running at)

Karamazovmm Overthinking? Always!
which 10krpm is 2.5''?
-
Karamazovmm Overthinking? Always!
not going to work on a laptop, you do know that they need the heat spreader dont you?

Karamazovmm Overthinking? Always!
^^indeed forgot about that
-
Weird, why does newegg have it under laptops then?
There are several others, that was just the highest rated one. Im going to have to speak to one of those eggheads about this!

Karamazovmm Overthinking? Always!
because the drive is 2.5'' size, however with the heat spreader its 3.5'' dunno about the height of it.
so a confusion have been made, thats all
Can someone try this SSD in their m14x?
