Ok before you go "no way..." let me explain the whole situation

I downloaded this game off of direct2drive and when I first played it, it was ABLE to run it on medium settings at 30+fps. (I actually had it on very high at first and it was somewhat playable)

Anyways, I think I messed with the graphics settings on this laptop (possibly something in the Nvidia control panel or something) and now the game won't even run on the lowest settings. I tried re-installing it and it still won't play. Even on low settings it's unplayable. It's almost like a slide-show when I play it (even on low settings) and I can't imagine how low the FPS is...

So for those who may know what the problem is or experienced this before, please help because I truly don't know much about PC's. (It can't be my GPU because remember, it worked on medium settings before. and don't suggest a system restore because I can only go back a day ago because I installed that windows 7 (It was from the CD the m14x came with, not sure exactly what it was)

I thought in the gaming sub-forum you wanted to send it back and get something else because the m14x can't game?

Stolen from elsewhere because im lazy -
Step1: Right click on your desktop. Step 2: Choose Nvidia Control Panel. Step 3: Choose manage 3D settings on the left hand side. Step 4: Make sure you are on the Global Settings Tab on the right hand side window. Step 5: Hit the drop down box under the 'PREFERRED GRAPHICS PROCESSOR and choose HIGH PERFORMANCE NVIDIA PROCESSOR. Step 6: Click apply at bottom. PLAY GAME

I've tried this already but I'll try it again and get back to you.

EDIT: Nope, no difference at all. It's something else.

    On which settings though?

Why would the latest version make a game run worse? I don't get it!

Well it's either the driver or it's something else...

I'm really surprised nobody can relate to this problem I'm having.

i can relate to it though. i updated to that driver modding inf file. the game was just lagging for me on a mixture of medium/high settings.
i dont understand it either as i wanted the driver for witcher 2 to be honest. maybe i should try it again. clean driver out and install and mess with settings.
