I'm changing the screen on my m14x to LG LP140WD1-TLA1.
Connector is in the right place and it should fit. Do i need to change the LVDS cable and will this screen work?
-
bigtonyman Desktop Powa!!!
biggest issue you are gonna encounter would be trying to get the screen out of the bezel as its tapped in and very hard to remove without damaging the plexiglass or the original screen.
-
I already got the plexiglass screen off. I don't care about the original screen. Will it work?
-
Wow good luck, let us know if it fits in the M14x! Would love to know if it looks better than the original screen
-
is this better than the 900p screen?
-
@supradrew Its the same resolution as far as I can see by looking it up online.
@Kevinmcg Is there a reason you are choosing to do this? It's the same resolution and unless my google-facts are wrong. . . that screen isn't matte so I can't be sure the reflectiveness is the reason. Regardless, I definitely want to see pictures of this if you succeed! Good luck! -
I'm surprised you wouldn't use this instead. Sorry for the mobile link im on a mobile device lol
LTN140KT01-301 Samsung 14" WXGA++ (Matte) (LED backlight) LCD Screens, (New) most screens $345 to $455 -
When looking around at websites i placed an order here:
https://www.laptopscreen.com/English/screen-part-number/B140RW02 V.0/
They should be shipping out my screen soon. If all pans out well ill post back here but it seems legit. They knew exactly what i needed. -
Sorry but, dont you already have a thread on this?
And isnt this the one I already linked you to in that thread? -
Nope and no. That must have been a different guy. I saw some people looking for a matte screen so i thought i'd post my find since im ordering one.
-
Really?

I mean I dont care but mods dont like crossposting -
Sorry i stopped looking at that thread a day ago. I purchased a screen from a guy tried it and it didnt fit.
-
Oh okay well you should update us and stuff. Im sure alot of people would like to know whether some different screens work or not. Plus itd be nice to have a single thread to go to for screen replacements, instead of a new thread for every new screen lol
-
Well this thread should be an end all once i receive my order.
-
Do let us know how it pans out.
Those people just have to send me a PM and I'll do my best to address their stuff. -
Planning on it im psyched, its already shipped. Their picture had the picture with the 4 pin holes like how it mounts in the m14x so it seems promising. only 82 bucks for a 1600x900 shipped from Canada to us too.
-
Yup, we try =)
-
Oh you own the site i ordered from? -
No no, I work for the parent company.
I lurk on here to collect useful info, and resolve any issues Notebookreview members might have with their orders from us.
(Hopefully before they arise) -
Thats good to know, do they make a 1080p screen that would work with the m14x?
-
No 14 inch 1080p screens that I know of. I searched the internet hard for one. I wouldnt mind finding a higher gamut/quality 900p one though. I think the current screen isnt that bad though
-
We do not stock any, 1600 x 900 is the highest.
(Don't know if it will work, will depend on your LVDS cable HD/HD+)
We typically see LG matte screens to be of best optical qualities. -
I bought a 1600x900 already it just doesnt fit. The LVDS cable that is standard across all m14x's are all dual channel.
