Hi guys Ive recently become an owner to a alienware m14x R2 laptop, Today I did a full cleanup and cpu and gpu repaste I really like it but it has some minor issues sound card has decided to stop working completely was working for a few hours then stopped tried restarting, turning on and off, I've heard this is related to the bios I'm currently waiting for a new ac adaptor and new battery because currently charger says unknown in bios and battery is dead so I cant update the bios which is the original A03 so fingers crossed that solves that issue. Other wise my dc jack might need to be replaced :S.

Ok now to my question With the front lcd screen plastic bezel there are like scuff marks on the outer plastic That are really visible when viewing white pages and they feel kinda rough if that makes sense. I've tried lens cleaner, and lcd cleaner with no luck. Is there anything I can do to fix this or is it just screwed.

Hope someone can help me out.

Generally those are caused when the lcd rubs on the keyboard/trackpad. If you put the laptop in a bag with too much pressure it will cause the rubbing.

There are 3 ways to get rid of it.
Replace the lcd bezel (pain in the butt)
polish the bezel (use a automotive rubbing compound)
Pick up some "3m clear bra" is a very thin clear vinyl film. The glue on it actually works into the scuffs and scratchs and makes them disapear. This will also add a layer of protection that can be removed and replaced easy if it gets scratched up.

Thanks for the info, I reckon Ill give the polishing option a try I was even thinking of using plastx its like a plastic/ headlight restorer on the bezel and see if that makes a difference. Also Ill definitely give that clear vinyl ago These laptops look like they really need it.

    Thanks again

Some people put something between the lcd and the keyboard (like a super thin mouse pad)
Dont do this, it may protect the bezel, but it puts pressure on the lcd and causes the bezel to stick to the lcd glass.... making this strange looking "bubble" in the middle of the lcd.... lightly bending the right side of the lcd housing fixes the bubble, but its a pain to do each time.

A tissue works well and doesnt do any damage.
