So up until a few weeks ago my machine has been running beautifully... not sure what triggered this (likely a software update) to start happening but it's a fairly regular occurrence now.

    1. sleep/shut down/ hibernate my laptop
    2. when i bring it back up the wifi connection is down
    - I can still see the connection, but it won't connect
    - Verified there is nothing wrong with my modem via other laptops
    3. right click and tried 'Troubleshoot issue' (lol) and surprisingly enough the machine restarts the wifi somehow and presto you get a connection and it's fine until you turn it off again.

Not critical as this 'workaround' works every time but really really annoying. Anybody seen anything like this before?

    Thanks!

Yep, about 2 months ago the network card was not being recognized on the computer. I called and the only thing I could do was restore to a previous point. More everytime I hibernate or put out to slep I have to connect to the network again. Then it never seems to connect. You have to try once, then cancel then try again and then cancel. Then it starts to connect automatically, but it never connects, then I haver to troubleshoot and then disconnect one more time. Then finally poof out connects on its own. It takes a good three minutes each time. I probably do this 3 or 4 times a day.

I noticed this after I installed my second hard drive, that when the computer comes back from hibernate, the connection that was previously connected is there but with no access. I reconnect it and it works right away.

Very minor but it would be cool if that didn't have to be done everytime.

See mine's a little more than just a dropped connection more like Matthew293's situation.

When you say you had to restore to a previous point do you mean full system restore? or just reset a dell driver?
