There have been multiple theads about coolers around here. Here's some pics of the cooler master u2 I recently picked up. If you have any questions ask.

You could put a picture of the cooler to see how you've positioned the fans?

My question would seem strange, but since M14x draws fresh air from the grid on the left, and expels warm air from the right, I was curious to see how you have made.

I have the NotePal E1 and I feel good.

    thanks and hello :)

The M14x uses both grids on the bottom for intake and the back for outtake

There is only one thing that prevents me from buying this cooler:

How does it feel on the legs when sitting on the couch or bed with the cooler resting on the thighs/legs?

I wouldnt try that, because it look super uncomfortable, I guess the cooler design to use on a desk only.

I'll be honest, it doesn't feel that bad on the lap. Sure, its not a Logitech comfort, but it doesn't feel that bad. I've been using it on my lap for 3 hour periods and its alright. I have been positioning the fans on the cooler underneath the ram slot, and under the fan spot. Though I do wonder, if having one fan under the fan does anything in terms of cooling. Also, I can sit the cooler on my lap with the fans in these places stated above, and not have the fans hit my lap. This means that I do not have to remove them if I carry the cooler from my desk to my lap.

I think U2 fits 14" but can support up to 17" is what they meant.

I just bought U2 yesterday and it works well for my m14x as the idle is 36-38 degree while gaming is 72-78

    The angle looks steep.

What is used to keep the lappy from sliding down/off?

The trick I discovered in the Accessories forums is to use a lapdesk+cooler+laptop.

This way it'll properly vent with no obstruction. Lapdesks go for like 25-30$ if you're wondering. Some even come with a pillow-bottom for extra comfort.

I don't get it. Where do you put the fans? I want to buy a U2 in the next week but idk where I've to put the fans of the cooler. If you can give us some pics I will really apreciate it. Regards.

The M14x has 2 vents underneath where air is sucked in for cooling.
The U2 has two fans... :D

There is no lip at the front to stop it from sliding BUT there is a non-slip rubber material on the surface where you put down the laptop that prevents the entire laptop from sliding off.

I was also concerned of the angle when I got my U3 and no lip at the front to "catch" the laptop. So far, my M17x has not slipped. I'm sure it's the same for the M14x. :)

I bought this for my R2 and so far it's been great! It's dropping 4 to 6 Celsius from my HWMonitor Temps readings! Loving It... :D

Also nobody has mentioned, this model come with an elastic band that can be wrapped around the computer to prevent it from slipping... But Ughhh... Yeah... You don't really wanna do that... It's uncomfortable 1... and the only place you could place it (that wont disturb your keyboard) is all the way on the top. Which is not really cool either b/c it covers the power button. Apart from that it's an amazing cooler.

Oh yeah it's metal too! So it dissipates heat faster :D

I don't mind the strap covering the power button (and the speakers), but does it prevent the lid/screen from closing properly?
