My company's EPP codes no longer work with Dell, apparently. We still get an EPP code, but we get... like, 1-2% off Alienware or higher end laptops now. It's depressing. I was set to order an M14X (WWAN issue aside) and... yeah, even calling up, just 1-2%.

Used to be 6-12% standard on EPP discounts.

If you're a Farmers business insurance employee OR client (Not sure if you have to be a business client or if it is open to all clients), there is a 21% off coupon available for all Dell and Alienware desktops and notebooks. Check with your farmers agent for info.

Or, you could visit farmers insurance website and look around on their homepage for a link to more information...That's what I did. Not employee related.

I didn't see any Alienware coupons there.

Alienware Coupon Codes - all coupons, discounts and promo codes for alienware.com

The only codes right now that work are the $350 off for the m11x (yes it works on the R3), the $450 off on the m15x, and I think the generic $50 off coupon still works as well.

I think so, but I'm not 100% sure. The program that the discount is offered through is called the Farmers Value Program. There is info about the Dell discount if you check their website, just google Farmers Value Program.

Wow.. I spec'd a m11x R3 to 1459 and the 350 off coupon works.. so for US residents it still works.

    Thanks,

I called on this Farmers deal this morning. The rep could not get the 21% to apply, apparently the M14x is excluded. However, they were able to offer me $200 off. Which meant instead of 21% ($305.13) I received ~14%. I was pretty happy with that, especially since there will probably be quite a few people trying to make this deal happen (therefore it may get canceled). I got free shipping, too (woo big $9 off).

    So here's my details:

    $1249.58 subtotal

    i7 2630
    4GB DDR3
    1.5GB DDR3 GT 555M
    500GB 7200RPM HD
    14.0" High Def+ WLED
    Intel 6250 2x2 with WiMax
    Soundblaster X-Fi Hi Def Audio
    Bluetooth 3.0
    Nebula Red
    1 Year Advanced Plan

All with DPA so no interest if paid within 12 months. Pretty happy with that.

So I recommend you call and state your Farmers agent referred you. Then give them the # from the Farmers site and they can look up the discount. It's pretty simple. If they can't meet it, be prepared to walk away. They will put you on hold again and give you another offer.

I can confirm that the M14X is available through the Farmers Value Program coupon as I just completed my order. Dell is not happy that Farmers has released this coupon code to the public though.

    My Details:
    i7 2720QM
4GB DDR3 (will be upgrading this on my own)
    3GB GT 555M
    500 GB HD
    900p Screen
    WiFI 6205
    Stealth Black
    1 Year Advanced Plan

Total including next day air: $1321.92

If you want to speak with my rep, let me know and I'll get you his extension. I'm with Farmers, so there was no issue giving me the discount, but my rep said he'll do his best to push any orders through with the coupon that call in about it.

Dell Premier through AAFES just listed the M14x.
$1040 for base configuration with 900P and Bluetooth upgrades! (~22% off)
Need to sell my XPS 15 first though :(

I called to see if I could get a quote/pricing for the M14X... three reps, all of them said they couldn't give the Farmer's discount out to Alienware laptops.

Which sucks, because not even my company's EPP applies to Alienware anymore. It did last year, but the average "EPP savings" I get is a mere 2% now. If that.

But if I buy a lowly Inspiron with my EPP, the average discount is somewhere between 10-20%? Yet again, when I bought my M11X from Dell last year, my EPP worked fine.

    I am miffed.

The best they would give me after calling me back was 1233 including tax for base model with upgraded screen and bluetooth. :/ I am really trying to get around 1100 or under.. that would be the sweet spot for me.

When I called in with this code, they ended up giving me $100 off and didn't even say why. The subtotal was about $1380 and after applying the code it went down to $1280. I'll take it; it covered tax.

I got the 21% off last night. It took a while on the phone because the rep didn't want to do it. However, the coupon is posted publicly and states that Alienware IS NOT excluded. My M14x ended up being $1197 shipped. Best of luck!

Quoting myself here so you can see my original story from the last page. I basically haggled with my rep today and got him to honor the 21%. :) You just have to be ready to walk away and mean it. Also, it doesn't hurt to have some back/forth via email. Especially if you're new to haggling. Some good models to mention that are significantly cheaper than the M14x but have similar specs: HP dv6t Quad Edition, or the upcoming Lenovo y470.

New subtotal: $1,147.87 (plus tax, free shipping)

Just say you're a Farmers Insurance customer and your agent gave you this link and info. Offer to provide proof that you're a customer if they waiver. It's all luck. Try other reps. Be ready to walk away. Etc. etc.

This is what my guy told me. I linked him to the page and said that my agent referred me to it (just like it says on the page - you can give it to your clients). He still argued this. At this point, I said "thanks, but I'm price sensitive so I guess I will move on...blah blah" - I told him I was canceling. Miraculously, an hour later he called me and said they matched the 21% off. Like I said, you have to be ready to walk away.

Ha...yeah...I am sure I did. I had a Dell Preferred Account (they like that better) and I started my order (and put it in) early this AM. So perhaps that had something to do with it. I am guessing that they put a hard stop on any Farmers related orders after some point. Who knows.

They told me the max discount they can personally offer (without coupon/promotion/etc) is $200 off. So maybe you can go after that amount? Then again, it could just be sales BS.

Additional $50 off only for those eligible for the EPP deal... no gurantees it'll work, but it is from the Dell website..: F3643$LKD1B3MS (probably best to give them this one after you try to use the Farmer's deal, if you are eligible for that), also free shipping HLSKSR06S9ZG0F

Go to their website. Register your info (you must be member of military). Then go to the aafes home page, and at the bottom click on the dell logo. It should pop up a page which is called premier.dell.com, which is aafes's EPP page. The prices are already discounted. Configure your setup, and then add it to your aafes cart. Then the page will close and take you to the aafes cart. Then you pay and that's it. You've got to call aafes and follow up on your order within a day or two, just to make sure it went through on their end.

    Anything else?

Is the 64$ discount from haggling over the phone?

M14X coupons will determine if I get one since a decked out to-the-teeth M11X-R3 with the -409$ coupon (minus SSD of course) comes out to under 1300$.

If you're looking for a discount on the M14X, click the above link, and per forum rules, send a PM to Maynard on the forums. His rep is legit, and I just got a $300 quote discount on an M14X (placing the cost of the laptop cheaper than the list price). You can use the Farmer's public coupon with this.

And we did it all by email, too. Simple, easy, no fuss.

So, if you're looking for an M14X... cheap... that link is where to do it.

EDIT: Props to Notebook Review. The fact "forum rules" auto highlights with a link to the forum rules is just awesome.

PM'd him. I live 15 minutes from the border right now (student @ Brock U) so I can pick it up at a mail holding facility such as CBI USA in Niagara Falls, NY., if he can make it work out (you can too).

If he can't get me the discount, I'll have to get my haggle face on :p
