    Hi.

My m14x boots so fast, the wireless network seems to connect before the ethernet every time. I can't work out how to set it back, I have to manually disconnect the wireless every time.

I tried adjusting the metric but its still connecting wirelessly.

Any advice, I figure other 14x owners might have had this issue.

I basically want it to always use the ethernet if available.

I use to had this problem too, for me I'd just disable the network card temporary and enable back on whenever I want it to use the Wireless Network or whenever I take my laptop to a internet hotspot, and you should be able to do it from within the Network & Sharing Centre. But if you dont know how, here is the instruction.

Open the Network & Sharing Centre in the Control Panel then click on " Wireless Network Connection ([Your Network name])" next to the word Connection, then a window will pop up and click on " Disable" under the Activity.

But if you dont want to have it disable, you can also try (I never try that, but in theory it should work) click on the " Wireless Properties" under Connection and next to " Details", then another window will pop up, then " Unchecked - Connect automatically when this network is in range", then click on OK, and exit out, there the laptop should be able to use the ethernet instead whenever it is available.
