Okay so i finally found this forum and im hoping you guys can help me out.

Recently i've noticed a drop in the performance of basically all games i had, wow was still fine, but now i got D3 and its honestly unbearable at some points
GIANT jumps in fps, extremely slow movement at times, it seems i can only play it decently with everything on low and Lower resolution, while all i hear is everyone elses doing fantastic!

Some help would ba amazing, thank you!

(Ive tried updating drivers, making sure D3 was using the right card.
    etc etc.

just wondering what is the optimal video settings for my i5 M14x for playing D3. Right now I'm 1280x720 resolution and runs fine but I want to get the most frames and look decent enough while playing. Thanks

Post your specs mate... We'll see if we can help...

Don't feel bad... Im running D3 on an R2 and I still haven't seen 100fps (I could if I remove shadows, AA, and other lil things) But my point is... I won't O/C my R2 and put it through unnecessary stress just to get a a jump from 60 to maybe 75 fps... It's not really worth it, to me. I can play D3 fine at 60fps and what's best, is that its a constant 60fps. No spikes or drops during boss battles or mass swarms.

So go ahead and post your specs... Forget what people are posting... Try to make sure, you enjoy the experience. If there's anything we can do here to help, well do it!

    :D

    Okay so
    I hav 3.0gb video card
    720gb HD
    i7 2630CPU
    6GB ddr3 ram
    uhm i have 1080p

Im not sure what else you guys need, but i really appreciate the help.

Uhmmm I have all uptodate drivers according nvidia and intel, my temps are normal, and game performance across all games seems very poor compared what ive seen this laptop do.

Battery is set to performance options and all that jaz.

I'm getting 60+ FPS maxed (lower shadows). Never any lag or performance issues at all on the R1 (before, yes).

The issue you're describing is what a great number of people are experiencing:

The cause? Alt/Tab'ing. I also experienced what you were experiencing for the longest time until I discovered it was an issue with the game through google searching.

If this is not the case and you've already updated your GPU driver (followed by a reboot), high-performance power and made sure your GPU is being used for this particular game, then I'm not sure what it could be.

I hit Ctrl+R last night while playing and I was never getting below 60FPS. Ever.

I have done nothing to hardware/software to modify the sytem. R1. The only thing I tuned down from high was shadow to off. Make sure your laptop is plugged in.

Just a little benchmark for people.

try look into nvidia setting, under 'Display/change resolution' should be the refresh rate =60Hz.

i dunno how the refresh rate effect the performance, but im having same problem during playing PES. my refresh rate is 40hz on that time. after change to 60hz, voilaaa..problem solve.. :D

I was wondering how most of your were getting 60 FPS on an R2. I upgraded my wireless card to a Killer Wireless-N 1102 from a Intel Wireless-N 2230, and there was a 30 FPS jump for me.

When i turn vsync off i get 80-100 fps, but theres no point as the human eye cant see more than 60/70fps :p
vsync matches your fps to the refresh rate :)

I get on average about 80+ FPS when I do the CTRL+R in-game. 1600x900 res and I have all settings set to high except for shadows on medium.

    What does CTRL+R do?
EDIT: nvm it shows FPS, I just read previous posts, I'll post how many FPS I get as soon as servers are back online.
EDIT2: Yeah so all maxed (everything on high and AA enabled) no oc 45-60 FPS. With shadows meduim instead of high 60 FPS.

Just got it yesterday. I'm averaging high 50 to low 60 FPS on average. All settings high (including shadows), AA on, V-sync off, 1920x1080. I have my GPU oc'd to 750/1500/1080. I've experienced no slowdown so far but some screen tearing. Turning V-sync on drops FPS to about 30 though so not worth it at all. Very pleased with how it's running even though I was sort of expecting this.

I don´t understand why some of you have problems with D3!?

I`ve everthing maxed (shadows too), vsynch and aa on and got stable 60 fps.
    Using a R1 with 301.24 driver.

    I have an i7 with a 900p screen.

Have not tried it, but i´m pretty shure it should be possible to do an override via Nvidia inspector without any problems.

On my R1 with shadows set to medium and everything else to high, AA and vsync on, the game is running very smoothly here on 1600x900 at a steady 60fps with only slight fps dips sometimes for big boss battles. :)

    Quality game too.

    Hey everyone.

Getting awful FPS on D3. I have everything on low/off and lowest resolution. But i still get 10-15 FPS during medium fights, and it will stutter down to less than that in big explosions or fights. If nothing is going on and im zoomed in on a corridor it will sometimes get ~50FPS (not maxed in optionbs)

    Specs-
    m14x, i5
    555 card
    4gig ram

Ive made sure it chooses the right graphics card, maximum power options when playing, turned off v-sync, its in fullscreen.

Any advice would be really appreciated

I have the i5 too and I got around 40fps in the beta with everythin maxed except shadows. redo your whitelist(the app not the launcher) just in case and use the high performance power plan. If other games seem to work just fine then try a reinstall.

Just to add my two pennies, I noticed that I was over clocking too much and it down clocked my GPU clocks and made the game slow, until a restart. I thought that 700/1400/1050 was a pretty reasonable over clock. It was well under some stated over clocks in some sigs here, but I kept getting down clocked. I had to lower the memory clock down to 1000 (I am sure I can go a bit higher, but I like the even number! ) and I have been stable ever since. I didn't have a problem running ME2 at 1050 nor any other game. Hope this might add some insight to others that have been over clocking.

I'm running D3 at 1080 on an external monitor with FULL settings. Vertical sync is not enabled but AA is.

    I have the i7 3610QM, 6GB DDR3, and the 2GB 650M GT

What is the average FPS your getting while playing D3? ? CTRL+R to view your FPS in game. What's your resolution on your external monitor? How's the temps for the CPU and GPU, does the palm-rest get hot? How are the fans? Fans loud like a hairdryer?

    Thanks in advance

Fans get pretty loud. Palm rest gets warm but bearable. I'll have to check the temps. What program should I use to check the temps? I'll have the results later tonight!

External resolution is 1920x1080 on a 21.5in Dell LCD. I have it connected via DisplayPort mated to DVI. I'm patiently awaiting the arrival of my replacement system through warranty..The current unit had TOO MANY cosmetic issues and it's only 7 days old.

I personally use HWmonitor to see my CPU and GPU temps

Does anyone own the M15x or used to own it?
I want to know how does both monitors compare 1600x900 on the m15x with the m14x 1600x900.

With my current GPU on my m15x it runs Diablo 3 on max without any problems

I don't want to quote you 'cause simply it's hella long lol.

Maybe I missed it but, what Nvidia card do you have? The 1gb or 2gb? Just curious. It shouldn't make much of a difference. D3 doesn't take much VRAM when compared to other games like BF3, etc.

Are you playing D3 on the Intel card?

And I apologize for the delay in my testing results. I'll have them tonight. Just been busy with school stuff (one semester to go!!)

I have a M14x R2 and play Diablo3, getting 60FPS and greater when i bother to look at the counter. I have the 2Gb card. Stock clock speeds. 296.16 drivers. mSata SSD and a 256Gb SSD.

Not experienced any visual problems yet. Very impressed with this machine having upgraded from a M15x

I had no problem with alt tab and today it started to do the thing that some people described, much more lag after alt tab... I am playing WD and now when I explode 4 dogs the game is just lagging hard, I played for 60 hours on my R2 and never had this problem... Do you know where can it come from?

Same here... I've beaten the game on Normal and Nightmare difficulties, 50+ Hours worth of play time... and Im still yet to see this Alt + Tab problem... As I stated previously... This Bug does not seem to affect the R2's at ALL!

FPS on Max Settings are around the 50-60...

some of the lag spikes are at the server not your pc. You got to remember your not playing the game locally.

Also I have about 48+ hours of gaming on D3 since it release and the first 24 hours I played all at once and my alt+tab still works lightning quick.

Those aren't bad temps don't worry... If you aren't using a cooling station, I'd say they're about the same as mine.

I tend to stay under the 70 mark... But its only because of the U2... Don't forget about the climate (playing with AC on or at room temp) that drops an extra 1-2 C's.

    Hope that helps :D

If you look at it, your machine is switching to hd4000 embedded gpu of ivy bridge for the game.

And thus, this is the source of your problem.

    Cheers
    Hope it helps :)

Anyone having a problem playing D3? Throughout Normal and Nm it was fine but when i got to Hell, where the fighting gets intense with more graphics, I find it stuttering with low FPS. I have the m14xr2 with the 650m 2gb video card. Any help would be much appreciated.
