I typically use a Logitech gaming mouse when I am on my laptop. I have it checked to disable the touchpad when I have the mouse plugged in.
It is supposed to reactivate the touchpad when I unplug the dongle for the Logitech mouse, but it never does.
I have to go and uncheck the box that turns this feature on in order to use the touchpad.
I have the latest driver off of the Dell website and it is still not working.
I have been trying to figure out what is going on with this now for at least 3 months and after reading a hundred or so forum posts, uninstalling and reinstalling drivers a dozen times and many more hours of googling trying to find an answer, I am coming up with a big flat zero.
So, maybe someone here knows.....
I have the Alienware 14 that is a year old as of 2 months ago.
Thanks!!
Sam

If you already have the latest drivers Touchpad and Logitech drivers installed, why not just disable the touchpad with Fn + F11 (or similar)? Then, you can just keep the dongle in.

So how much of a retard do I feel like right now???
Well, you just made my day, thank you!! -
I am laughing like a nut job right now.
Sometimes the simple stuff just goes over the head and no matter how smart a guy is, it just doesnt register until someone else mentions it lol -
Sometimes the auto feature works, sometimes it wont.... I have found that mine works all the way up till I install either the razer software, or the logitech software (razer on m14xr2, logitech on aw17)
After the software is installed I have to manually turn the trackpad on and off. -
Wrong thread....oops
Disable internal pointing device when external pointing device....not working.....
