    Hey guys,

I am interested in getting a nice dual monitor setup, but I am unfamiliar with what the M14X R1 can support and what the best way to hook them up would be. My hardware is listed below in my signature. Any help is appreciated.

I only know from the m14xR2, but you can use the HDMI and Mini DP port. The Mini DP port uses the Nvidia GPU. Not sure about the HDMI port, but from screenshots of the m14xR1's Nvidia control panel, it should use the Nvidia GPU as well. It should be possible to do dual 1080p.
VGA GPU is connected to the iGPU.

Thanks for the info - so I would just connect using two HDMI cables then? I guess there is no wireless capability on the R1 right?

There's only 1 HDMI cable, so unless you plan on getting a mni DP to HDMI adapter, you can only use 1 HDMI cable.
    For wifi, you mean this?

Yea I have a mini DP HDMI already - I know my M14X doesn't have built in wireless display ability - wasn't sure if there was an adapter or something I could buy instead of having cords everywhere.

Its possible on the R1 though the amount of gpu power needed would push the 555m to its limit.

WiDi only needs an Intel GFX card and an Intel Wireless card to work + the receiver.

However, the display that would be running with this would be streaming using the Intel HD GFX instead of the nVidia. For better performance I'd recommend to use cables.

WiDi (wireless display) is 'OK' for office work (presentations, typing memos, sending email, web surfing) but is "sluggish" for any multi-media work not to mention gaming. I agree with the AW rep and would use cables in those cases.

I don't have direct experience with the AW M14x R1, however, on other systems with mDP ports, the mDP-->HDMI adapters work just fine for 1080p.
