    ocz agility 3 with firmware 2.13 / m14x running on a03

only issue is the boot up hang.

no BSOD no hang inside windows 7.

ATTO running on sata 3 speed with msachi driver.

hope this issue will be solve when dell release the new a07 bios.

First time poster long time reader. Just installed my Vertex 3 fresh reinstall of windows 7 did not do anything except not install intel rapid storage technology.

Checked ATTo and AS SSD not sure what these numbers mean so I thought i would post it and get everyones opinion.

I've been through one hellish week with my Vertex 3 Max IOPS. After I got a mobo replacement to fix some GPU issue, the SSD ran into a LOT of issues (bootup hang, BSOD, Windows OS installation fails x20), and only recently I've been able to get some stable usage - thanks in no small part to NBR member c69k :)

Anyways, this is what I did so far:
(0). Install Windows 7 Home Premium
    1. Install unlocked BIOS A05 (default settings)
    2. Install Intel chipset drivers (Management Engine Interface 7.0.4.1197, HM 67 Cougar Point 9.2.0.1030)
    3. Enable storage break event in BIOS
    4. Enable the AHCI Power Options using c69k's .reg file and power settings
BTW I did not install the Intel Rapid Storage Technology software.

And this is what I'm getting in ATTO:

I'm running into disturbingly low write speeds, and on top of that I have the "disk freeze" issue mentioned by c69k (look at 2.0 read). There's something else that's confusing me as well. Any file larger than around 300MB takes forever to process; after hitting around 300MB, the speed drops all the way from 100+MB/sec to around 5-10MB/sec.

Does anyone have any leads to a solution? I've been reading up on how SSDs work, and apparently TRIM is supposed to utilize free storage space to achieve fast file operations, but I'm guessing this is not working?

Thanx. I will try to make it work 500/500 for you, no prob.

Try only Total Length 64 Megs in ATTO.

Also in Bios disable aggresive LPM support, and also disble SATA port 0 hotplug, and disable Energy efficient p-states.

We have the same SSD so it must work.

And I have seen results as yours on my machine before.

Thanks for the response, c69k! I disabled aggressive LPM support and energy efficient p-states (Hotplug was already disabled), but the results are still the same. The writes are still staying in the 100-200MB/sec range.

    Which firmware are you?

OK. Try disabling C-states in Bios. Custom90GT's tweak with storage worked on my machine only after I

    1. Disabled c-states
    2. Tried ATTO
    3. All was 500/500 suddently
    4. Then, enabled break storage, disabled c-states
    5. ATTO still 500/500.
    6. re-enabled c-states
    7. Atto was perfect, only the freezes were there with small files
    8. (applied the power plan reg.) that you also did and no more ATTO freeeezes
    9. I have my laptop in LOG OFF mode for the whole night 3 times a week, for TRIM/GC and it usually kicks in after 30 minutes of being in LOG OFF mode (fan starts for 2-3 minutes and there is SSD activity). Low write speed could mean also this. And i have TRIM on, prefetch superfetch on as I have plenty RAM and no pagefile.

    SSD is 50% full.

There is much more coming lol
    Hope this helps.

Thanks again :) I tried disabling c-states, but it's still a no-go. However, I always used to turn off my system when not in use, so I think I'll try the logoff thing you mentioned. I will report back in a day or two, or if I run into even more problems

I remember low write speeds were driving me mad.

Canofspam4000, I get only such good speeds when on FW 2.13. Also with 2.15., but on 2.15 startups are terrible.

With 2.09 and 2.08 I saw low write speeds like yours.

And, also if you see no improvement please uninstall drivers (see pic) for OCZ Vertex 3 MI ATA device and restart, it will automatically install (the same) driver.

Then, do the same for ATA Channel 0, restart.

At the end run Windows WEI for the changes to re-register.

    I hope this helps.
