If you're looking at ordering an m14x and you notice this (the default) on the Dell/Alienware site as of this writing:

    Intel® Wireless-N WiFi Link 1000 a/g/n 1x2

they're lying and/or clueless. It doesn't support 802.11a nor the 5 GHz band, as noted on the Intel site itself. So, if you're somebody who actually wants/needs 802.11a like me, do yourself a favour, save yourself the hassle, and order the 6205 up front. Your time is worth more than $25. :p I'm currently arguing with Dell, and they're being a pita about the whole situation....

I'm sure the Intel 6300 half mini card will fit but you will be missing an antenna.

The Intel 6300 has 3 antennas slots and the M14x only has 2 antennas inside of it. So for you to get those 450 mb speeds with the additional range you would have to add that 3rd antenna yourself. I plan on doing it but in a month or so.
