    Fresh Install M14X Driver Drama's

    Hey guys have a small problem which is really giving me the S%&ts.

    I installed a new SSD HDD and had to do a fresh boot from disk.

    I have had not had a problem with the computer after ive done this

    its only when im at the work hotel and they have a ethernet cable plugin for the internet,

    the problem is when i connect the ethernet cable the computer does not reconise it.

    i went to start and DEVICE MANAGER and it comes up with 4 things

    - Ethernet Controller
    - PCI Device
    - SM Bus Controller
    - Unknown Device

    all giving this error

    The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

    There is no driver selected for the device information set or element.


    To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver.



    and when ever i try to update the drivers (right click from device manager) the computer cannot find anything even though im connected to net via wireless connection

    I went to the dell support driver page etc and downloaded the network drivers and i keep getting another error saying this driver cannot be installed on your system.

    I dont know how to get my ethernet working again please any knowledge on this matter will be most appreciated thanks alot for reading

    You might need - LAN Atheros Driver & Chip set driver.

    Just wondering which m14x you have , r1 or r2?

    Also you may use your driver CD to get these software.
