I tried white listing the game but still its using intel graphics according to benchmark test. Is there a fix for this?

    You sure it's whitelisted?

The game exe, not the launcher?

Also, even whitelisted, the game runs poorly. I bought it off Steam for like 5-10 bucks and even with lowered settings I could barely get 20-25 FPS, often dipping to 10-15.

I could see it's a great game, but not playable enough. Stick with console for this one. :(

Dont bother with the whitelist because it is not working. Reason is that GTA 4 is a just another bad console port game to PC and it is indeed the worst port I ever experience of all of the console port game I ever played. However one thing you were wrong is the statement where you said "Also, even whitelisted, the game runs poorly.", because when I got it working, it ran just as smooth as other open world games (Saint Row 3 for e.g).

This is the benchmark with the solution I got from a fellow NBR user, all credit to him: GTA4 Benchmark.

The title of the thread is 99.99% exactly the same as mine , What a coincidence! GTA4 Doesnt detect Nvidia GPU? - GTA 4 Solution.

It's strange as my GTAIV is running with the icehancer HD mods (not the latest though as that seems to break the game) and I'm getting about 45fps ingame and it only rarely dips to about 28fps when some crazy graphically intesive parts are happening?

I found the game was a nightmanre to configure and get working though (its one of the first modded games I wanted to check out when I got my m14x). I had to drop my screen res to 1366x768 and its not running the iceconfig on max settings but I still get a pretty decent fps throughout?

I had a go last month trying to get the latest iceconfig to work but it kept cr*pping my game out getting either stuck in a loop loading or booting the game but not displaying the graphics correctly so I just revereted to my backup GTAIV and ice config seeing as it worked ok.
