Just got my new alienware m14x ....Thr is a Gap on top of the screen ...between the plastic border and the display ( as in when i look at the screen i can see a black patch between the lcd and the plastic body)....Is it always like this??

I have a gap as well, not as big as yours though. -
Edit: BTW...i switched my wallapaper and turns out its not a black patch.....but...just that my windows wont go completely on top...cause when change the wallpaper to blue.......the patch turns blue too..(phew a relief i think)

Looking at the picture, the gap seems big enough to call dell...
Do you have a gap at bottom of the lcd as well?? If not, maybe the lcd is not centered properly -
any suggestions?? -

Tried and it worked:
Here is the way to get rid of the process toaster.exe and you don't need to kill it every time your computer starts:
Open control panel
Double click on the ‘Administrative Tools’
Double click on the ‘Services’
Scroll down and find the ‘SoftThinks Agent Service’, double click on it. In the pop-up window, change the startup type to ‘Disabled’, and then click ‘OK’.
Restart your computer, problem solved .
