Right so heres the deal, I have had a Alienware m14x r2 since April this year, ever since I opened the box I have had problems I have had 6 allegedly brand new motherboards, I have had 13 new heatsinks as my tepmps keep hitting 99c even when not doing anything, I rang up Alienware again yesterday and the tech guy decided he wanted to do some benchmarks and updates etc anyways everything runs smoothly until half way through the PC Mark Vantage 11 benchmark when my laptop blue screens on me, the guy says "what just happened?" so I replied "I just blue screened" so he re connects to my laptop and decides to look through the reliability history, and it says 99c overheating etc so he trys again and this time it runs fine but the fps was HORRIBLE i mean it was on 2-4 fps the entire time, so he looks and it was running off my Intel HD Graphics 4000, then when he goes into the device manager the Nvidia GeForce gt650m had vanished, so he trys more updates, different drivers etc, turns out my gpu fried or something like that, So he goes and talks to his manager for 20 odd minutes when he comes back he offers me a replacement system that was the same or higher spec than the one I have now so I said yeah thats fine, anyways he went off for another 10 mins and when he comes back he say "im pleased to say that you will be receiving a new alienware 14 (2013 model)" What I want to know is what specs on this "new" alienware 14 I will have and also will it be refurbished or brand "new"?
My specs now are:
Intel core i5 Processor 2.6gh (3.2ghz with turbo boost)
8gb ram
2gb GDDR5 Nvidia GeForce gt 650m
Windows 8
500GB hard drive
and the standard optical drive and screen
Many Thanks

I would call Dell and have them email the specs to you. Ask for a manager.. Because they have been sending out less spec'ed replacements.

just rang up and the man on the phone said that I will be receiving the email tomorrow to confirm that I am happy withe specs they are going to give me and that it is going to be a brand new factory built machine and I will receive the order number etc through an email will keep this topic posted on what happens and also will have to compare the cpu, gpu and screen etc to my current specs to make sure they are equal or (more than likely) better performance than the specs I have now

Still no email from dell, even though I rang up again today and he said it will be resent within the next 2 hours (this was at 3pm), I got him to check the email for me and everything, let's hope tomorrow I get the email -__-

Just managed to back up the most important parts of my data using my tower pc, I also have just rang alienware in regards to my case and the guy on the phone was very helpful, he said he is going to place the replacement as urgent as I need the laptop for sixth form, he also said that he is going to be handling the case himself, so if anything hasnt happened by tomorrow he will be getting in touch with the people whom deals with the replacement system and specs
hope everything pans good out from now, will be keeping this post active to let you guys know whats happening, Thanks for all your help with this so far
