At least I think it's somewhat strange, anyway.
After 3+ weeks of my M14X being "in production", I got a voicemail from a Del rep saying something to the effect of:
"On your recent (ha!) Alienware M14X order, we have to install an Intel Display Adaptor driver and this will cause you to have a different order number, call XXXX for any questions.."
Really? Seems kind of odd after all this time. And that would change my order number? Hmm. Maybe I will call and find out what the heck is going on.
Anyone else get a call like this?

I got a call from a rep saying there was something wrong with their website. some drivers or something is missing from my order and they have to cancel my order and have a new order set up, after one week of my initial order. that means i will receive my laptop one week late.

my replacement was cancelled on friday, and they said they were re doing my order, i dont why though, because i couldn't understand the foreign agent.

The reason is that the custom nameplate I use include char that is for some reason, the system said it is a non-char word that is " ' " char, long story short, I contact Dell with the chat service and get thing sorted in a day.
btw one thing is similar is that my order get cancelled on Friday too and sometime it can cause a frustration because Dell Customer Service dont work on weekend. So the best way to contact them is the chat service, and if you do, get the order number ready. Good Luck. -
Sounds like they're pushing out alot of purchasing due to school; I'll bet.

Could be. Though I ordered mine on July 1st, so I would think they would have had some lead time there.
Nice to see this is legit, and not someone running a scam. Or that their website had been hacked or something. Can't be too careful these days.I didn't get a chance to call the rep over the weekend, will give them a call today and see what's up with it.
