Yeah mine does that too. Have you tried any games yet or are you just concerned that it doesn't show your nvidia geforce gt 555m?

I'm assuming you found this out by right clicking on the desktop and selecting graphics properties, then went to basic mode, options & support, information center and at the bottom right side it says "Processor Graphics in Use: Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000"

Let me know if you've played any games and how well they run because so far with the two games I've tried out, I've experienced lag... and you'd think a gaming type laptop would be lag-free but I guess that's asking to much... especially from 2 games that came out four+ years ago.

The two games I've tried out are...

Roller coaster tycoon 3 (Release date 2004)

-The game runs fine only if the park I'm making is simple and small. But when I start expanding the park, adding more scenery, rides, more guests fill up the park etc... the lag picks up. Now it's still playable but if you're like me, when it lags even just a little, it ruins the whole experience. I've tried reducing the lag and the only way is to literally set everything really really low to the point where it looks pretty bad. So I can either play the game with terrible graphics (which defeats the WHOLE purpose of playing the game since the graphics are a big part of what makes this game enjoyable, at least for me) or play it with some lag.

    Crysis (Release date 2008)

-Not much to say about this, obviously it's one of the top high demanding games out there but still on a gaming type PC, it should be able to play it. Now my situation with this game is a little strange because when I first played it, I was able to play it on high/medium settings. (Very high was hardly playable) But after a couple days of having the game, something happened (I'm still trying to figure it out) and now I can't even play the game on LOW settings. Now I don't know if this is thanks to the latest driver update or what but I did something... This issue probably won't apply to you but just in case you have the game, let me know... :D

What's your specs and what resolution were you at?

At the time when I was playing crysis (and it was working) it was probably running at 30+ fps although it could've been a little lower as you said.

I just noticed, when I play EVE Online... it only shows the Intel HD Graphics as well. Even though I have the 555m set as default for everything, and I also choose run with 555m when starting the application???? What is the point in having both? if i go into device manager and disable the intel will it hurt anything?

Yeah even on when I'm on high performance the lag still is there... so I just don't know what to do.

I know how to fix this:
go to control panel, press hardware and sound, click device manager, Display adapters, double click the nvidia option and if it says "this device is disabled" press the 'Enable' button. Hope this helps you :) oh, plus: open the NVidia control panel, then go to 3D settings, put everything as high as it can go, this will give you the best possible performance from the card (Especially put pre-rendered frames to 8: gives me absolutely no lag on MW3 at EXTRA settings!)
