So i was using my m14x and i accidentally ended a wrong process which was explorer process i believe ? Now i tried to turn it on, at boot screen and all i entered my password to enter into the desktop but it only shows a blank black screen, although i could still press control alt delete, and i can only see my mouse pointer, any way to solve this ?

weird, it should start running the process again.
do ctrl+alt+delete and task manager and then do run and type explorer.exe and see if that brings windows up.

well explorer should come back if you restart but since thats what you think you ended try this, hit control alt delete and open the task manager, then hit file, new task, and type explorer.exe

There are 3 thing you can do:

1- Using the Task Manager like custom90gt said.
2- Try log off and back again.
3- Which also be the last resort is either restart or shut down the computer and turn back on.

That would fix the problem however unless you computer is infected by viruses then it would be a complete different story.

It's really hard to delete explorer so I'd try method 1.

I dont think you can remove it, because it is one of the Core component for user interface. I think you can only disable it, in the Registry Editor (Regedit) I guess.

But why do you want to remove it anyway?

See Here to have a quick read on the explorer.exe (Windows Explorer) Oh and there's also a short text within that page talking about "How to Fix Explorer.exe Crashing in Windows 7 x64"
