I know they are not meant to be swapped. But I still would like one or two batteries as extra's to keep for power outages and such. It doesn't seem like you can buy them anywhere from where I have looked.
Does anyone know where to get any, if you can buy any?

Are you buying in the US? There are some on eBay right now.

I tried to get a couple a few weeks ago. I was working a deal for renewing/extending warranties on multiple laptops and getting a couple m11x batteries (same as m14x) thrown in. After over an hour of haggling, they found that only refurbished batteries were available and the deal fell through. Two weeks ago I called alienware support and was told new batteries should be available in two weeks, but I haven't checked back yet.
Just checked back and have a new battery on the way. They quoted me $150 for the battery with a free AC adapter, but I got them down to $110 for just the battery and it has a one year warranty from Dell. -
It would be a hassle replacing the batter on a m14x. With a power outage, you have no internet. I guess you can work on a paper and things like that...

They should be able to purchase on the dell website. Change the battery is really easily! Just two screws. You have problems with your battery? If not its not build to switch battery every time when one is empty

Has anyone found where you can get extra batteries for the m14x?
