I'm trying to sell my 2012 M14x R2, but I seem to be having quite a lot of trouble doing so, I'm not getting any interest or offers. Laptop is in perfect condition. Asking price is $900 Canadian, using kijiji

    Specs:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
    Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3610QM CPU @ 2.30GHz
    6 GB of RAM
    1600 x 900 Display
NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1GB VRAM
    Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000
Intel 330 180GB SATA III SSD
    Bluetooth, Wireless N Wi-Fi, USB 3
    8x DVD± R/RW Drive
    Creative Sound Blaster Recon3Di High-Definition 5.1 Audio
8 Months left on the warranty

I was wondering if anyone has experience selling these kinds of laptops. Am I pricing this too high? Any tips?
Also tried Ebay, but someone tried immediately scamming me by sending me fake Paypal emails...

On ebay you should get $600 to $700 I think, on CL or on here you would be looking at less. Ebay is pretty good but you just have to be careful.

Wow, with prices like those I think I will be keeping my m14xr2... Was thinking of selling it this week.

Avoid eBay. You'll run into issues and have to pay fees. Just clean it up, do a clean install, test everything (again) and put it on Craigslist.

    It's not worth that much.

Wow, it's surprising it's worth less than $900. The laptop, with the screen upgrade, SSD and warranty cost me around $1800, so I was hoping on getting at least 1/2 the money. Surprised these things depreciate this quickly. I sold a 13' ancient 2009 MBP for close to $500...

If you want a fair price, look on eBay for refurbs with similar specifications and see what they're selling for. Not what they're listed for, but what they're selling for.

I think $700 is a fair price, assuming it's in good condition.

when I went looking for a 14" I had a great deal of choice, aw m14r2 at very good prices or new aw14 which was more expensive.
I went with the newer aw14 as its more modern and all round better spec. price didn't really matter as its what I wanted and was prepared to spend, I think most people will be like I was when it came to buying
I think best you can do is to drop the prices or part it out and wait...
shame really aw14r2 is a very good system.

It does not seem that bad. but many people preffer new even when it's just the basic model. Try the NBR marketplace ;)

Yeah that is tough, the SSD's via dell are expensive. For resale, the 2GB 650m would have helped a lot (I sold a R2 like yours 5-6 months ago and most would not touch it since it was the 1GB 650m version).

I am looking to buy something exactly in the line of what are you selling and for a MX14r2, the price is more around 600-650 around here... the problem is that for 1049$, we can have a brand new 14 with almost the same spec as yours...

So maybe others are like me.. If I will buy used, it will be because I save a lot and not just a couple of hundreds...

That price is high I think as others have stated. Even with the 180gb SSD I don't think you'll get more than $700.
