I have (2) of the Corsair drives. I've been happy with them. The only issue I had was that the laptops would blue screen if I closed the lid and put them in hibernate. Once I disabled that they worked pretty well.

My laptops shut down in 6 seconds, which for me is nice.

Vertex 2? M14x supports SATA III and the other two options are SATA III why would you go down to SATA II. Vertex 3 for an extra 50$ should be a no brainer. IMO it is still way too overpriced even if there was a price reduction since the release of the Vertex 3.

im using an agility 3 120gb which i paid $220 for... + waiting on my $30 MIR, Works like a champ.... sata 3 speeds are crazy fast! way better then my velociraptor in my desktop.

Id recommend sata 3 drive and 120gb and having an optical caddy for other data.

for gaming the best drives are vertex 3, m4, and the intel 320 yes thats right sata 2, id go with the 320 because when it comes to gaming the 320 beats the vertex 3 because of the access time, the m4 comes on top by a very small amount vs the 320

m14x is supposed to support SATA III but it doesn't. I personnaly have a Samsung 470 and I'm really happy with it.

I think it does, but only on huge sequential reads/writes. I could be wrong but I think I saw that somewhere on the forums.
