Well, I have heard some things, you know, I mean the temperature of Cpu. If I use it to play COD all day, will it broken? Do you feel uncomfortable about the temperature of keybord? Thanks.

I think it's one of those fancy things you put on your lap when you eat in the living room? Kid's and their toys!

You're going to run into higher temps with a laptop this small to begin with, are they as bad as everyone says? Probably not, mine is fine. As much as I love forums, most of the people posting are complaining of a problem they're having (Which is great because they get help and it becomes a good resource if someone has the same issue down the road) so out of every person who is having issues there are probably 100 more people who don't have a single issue (I think there was a poll and 70%ish of m14x owners didn't have a single issue).

Anyways, the m14x is probably the beafiest laptop I'd be willing to carry daily to my work or around campus. If you don't plan on ever taking your laptop anywhere besides lan parties or anything like that I'd have to point you to the m17x R3, it has a little more bang for your buck but they trade off is you lose a lot of portability. That being said the m14x is a freaking power house at it's level, it blows through anything and plays games like a champ. I personally use mine for BC2, Rift, TF2, and ME2 I also take ti to work everyday and use it with Photoshop, Illustrator and other graphic design apps and it blows through everything with ease.

The definite issues I've seen with this laptop is yes it runs hotter, but it isn't auto shutdown cook an egg hot. People have reported higher temps but I think I've only seen one person where it shut down and it needed a repaste (from what I've heard this lowers temps pretty good). Some people are also blowing the subwoofer due to leaving it at max volume with bass boost full and possibly low quality music (128 or less).

Personally I think this laptop is bad@ss , I sold my m11x and my G73jh and this replaced BOTH of them and I'm 100% happy. Hope my .02 helps you some, Good luck.

My cruddy ASUS A42 with an i3, HD5470 and intake vents that you can completely block with your thumb can handle MW2 fine. An m14x will have no trouble.

Read your 2nd to last sentence lol. You probably meant "Personally I think this laptop is bad @ss." Anyway I'm considering a m14x as well. The only thing holding me back is the not-so-high gamut screen which the Dell XPS 15 has. Thanks for your tips. Your post was probably too much english for OP lol.

How about the issues I've heard about where the GPU throttles back when on battery? Are those blown out of proportion too? I'd hope so, because I really want to love the M14x, but if the GPU is unusable on battery, it's a big minus.

No high-end laptop is really capable of playing at full GPU speed on battery. Expecting the M14x to buck that trend is foolhardy. It throttles back, but so does everything else.

I think you are able to get like 10kish 3d mark06 scores on battery with some tweaking but yea as stated above it does throttle back quite a bit but any high end laptop is going to do that.

Right, but how much throttling does it do? Because as stated, I know the dv6t's 6770m can do pretty well for itself on battery. Will stuff still be playable?
