    How reliable is the estimated shipping date?

    I just ordered my m14x (yay) and was wondering if I could trust the Dell estimated shipping date. Just wanna see if you guys got the computer at the listed date or not.

    They usually put the shipping date way out just to cover their butt if something happens or they get a ton of orders. I'd say count the days till it says it's shipping and half that is probably the realistic ship date. Although some people on here have been complaining there resetting they're getting their shipping date, it could be due to a high volume of back to school orders.

    There have been many mixed responses to the estimated shipping dates posted by dell. I orderd mine on 7/12 and it was estimated to arrive on 7/28 however, i received it on 7/20. But I have read comments of people having their ship dates updated to a later time than originally posted....

    I would take it with a huge grain of salt. Ordered mine 7/7, original ship date 7/15, then put back to 7/26, now its 8/1. I think the delays were mostly because of them changing the parts (I ordered the 6205, which they then dropped). It better come on/before the 1st or theres going to be some very rude words said down the phone.....

    My estimated shipping date was 7/21 ...it arrived on 7/19 but then i created a big fuss on my order and got after thr life :D

    My ETA was 7/15, but I got it like on 7/2 (exactly 7 days after ordering)

    Wow so if they don't change the estimated date then it's most likely to be delivered earlier? But then again it just so happens that I'm going camping for the few days leading up to my estimated shipping date D:

    If the delivery date stay the same for more than a week or two, you might want to contact Dell delivery call centre, to check them out, oh and also I found out that the call service has more reliable detail than the one on the website.

    I ordered mine last month, the original delivery date is about 5 week, but arrive just in 2 weeks. Because they tend to change once each phase like Order Received, In Production, etc.. is done, they will update the status and change the delivery date again.

    I ordered a backpack bundle and maxed out everyting on the laptop. Ordered on 6/26 with EDD of 7/20. On 7/19 order was updated with new EDD of 7/28. Call to order support reported production delays and stated new ship date of 7/21. On 7/23 order was cancelled. Dell called me on 7/24 asking to confirm a new order for the same laptop. New order did not list all the original selections I had made and had to be cancelled. A new and 3rd order was created that was correct and now showed and new EDD of 8/9. Currently still in production on EDD of 8/9. Good luck!!!

    I ordered mine on 7/21 and it was customized and it arrived 7/26, apparently it is just a crap shoot with which parts you get and if they have them in stock
