Our AW14 is capable of running Intel XTU :)
So I was wondering, how great it is to underclock our cpu for longer battery life and maybe lower temperature :p (mine runs 50-60 C at low load, with environmental temp at around 20 C)
I heard some guys from the clevo page that undervolting and underclocking the 4700mq can possibly achieve similar TDP as 4702mq
So underclocking may actually help battery life and I'm willing to try it (unlike overclocking, I presume it won't fry up the chip??)
Does anyone can kindly provide some step-by-step? because the XTU is a bit confusing for noobs like me :p
any help is much appreciated :)

If you can move the Dynamic CPU Voltage Offset slider, that is how you undervolt. My 4900Mq runs very well at -100mV, but you should probably start at -50. As to underclocking/OC the only changes semm to be to the turbo multipliers, and I don't believe you can move those below stock, just upward.

Thank you so much!!! I would certainly have a go, once I have tested the battery life without undervolting :D haha just got the machine
By turbo multiplier, you mean the following settings? It seems like I can adjust them

btw, I've just found out why my cpu runs so hot...As I've set the power plan to performance, the lowest cpu state is defaulted to 100% LOL
What a ridiculous power plan to keep my cpu at full load all the time

dropping your multipliers and stuff will help with your battery maybe, but not really with temps because of the way the fan table works. If you want lower temps play with the fan table using a program like HWINFO64. however, use at your own risk

Gotta agree with you on this as well. :) It could work fine but you may also break something if it's not used carefully.

I would like to use XTU and/or have control over the fan, what is going to break exactly?

you can overheat your laptop if you don't watch your temperatures and cause damage to the fans as well. I have never really heard of anyone damaging their fans, but the warning must still be given. and xtu only deals with the processor. I personally would leave that alone as undervolting manually doesn't do a whole lot as far as I understand as haswell will downclock itself to save power when not needed. That's how I understand it at least. Hope this clarifies things a bit. :)
