You guys are my last hope.
I bought a new samsung SSD 840 EVO 250gb on TigerDirect and swapped it with my old hard drive in my M14x R2.
Since the sdd is empty I wanted to install Windows 8. I downloaded the iso from microsoft and burned it on a dvd.
It seems Windows 8 REFUSES to install on the SDD.
First of all, the BIOS does not seems to detect the SDD. In the UEFI settings, it shows only "lan " and "DVD". Why is that? The SSD is correctly connected and RAID mode set to AHCI. In the main screen it says the SDD is connected to the Hard drive port.
After, when I insert the Windows 8 DVD, it is very very slow and it gets stuck on the purple/blue screen after clicking the "install now" button (picture). I've tried all the BIOS settings possible, disabling secure boot, switching back to legacy, etc. Every setting possible.
When I switched back in legacy mode it copies the files but at the end of the process it reboots and restarts the whole installation (endless loop). dead end here.
Now I had to swap back by old hard drive in and switch to legacy mode to get my old win8 so I can use my computer to write this message. Can anyone help me?
Is it possible I have the wrong iso? I have Windows 8 pro 64-bit from downloaded from the official Win8 installer, then burned on a DVD. But I don't think this is the problem. I tried installing WIn7 and it says the sdd can't be set as the BOOT device? What the hell?

BIOS needs to be set to RAID, also disable the secure boot and try again.

You may need to "clean" the drive/SSD first:
- boot from the Windows OS disk
- click repair computer
- chose option to boot the command line (I forget what it's actually called)
- type diskpart on the command line
- type select disk 0 (assuming the drive/SSD is the only drive -- otherwise, you need to list disks to determine the correct drive number)
- type clean all
- type setup (to start the windows process again)
- it should then ask you to format the drive/SSD -- just select it and say yes.
- the rest of the install should proceed as normal -
Can somebody give me a link to download legit Windows 8 pro 64-bit for Samsung 840 SSD? I have a legit CD key. I will burn another cd again or use a USB key.
What are the particular SETTINGS I must set in the BIOS? After setting the BIOS to RAID, do I set it to UEFI (again it I do this I can't see the SSD in the UEFI list!!) or Legacy and after setting one of these two do I need to do some particular settings? -
When I do this, I can't see the hard drive in the boot order. Is that normal?

So to clarify everything, I am ready to try again.
I have the following items:
Samsung 840 evo SSD
Windows 8 pro key
I need the following items/into:
Where to download Win8 64 bit
Which settings I need to change in the BIOS, from OPTIMAL settings (legacy)
What should I see when I plug in the SSD in the BIOS
How should I do the installation -
Bump... please help!

Wow, thanks so much! How can I load the SSD driver from a USB? Where can I find the driver itself? This is literally the last thing I need, can't wait to try now!

When booting from the OS install DVD, you'll have an opportunity to load the RAID driver (assuming you previously set the RAID Operation to RAID in the BIOS; for AHCI, you do not need a boot driver). If Windows cannot find the drive and does not prompt you then you may need to press F6 (I cannot remember). You'll find the boot driver by searching Intel's site. You need the specific driver for your chipset -- I don't have an M14xR2 but I assume it has a Series 6 chipset. Perhaps the driver is located on the Resource disk that came with your machine? (I never used the Resource disk, so I don't know.)

How about installing from DVD instead of USB?
