I'm not sure though. I heard a sound when I closed my laptop. I was wondering if one of you can check something on your laptop for me. Can you close your laptop and look at the back of the hinges and see if there's suppose to be a slight gap on each hinge?

well if you mean...a small line between the lower and upper hinge....then i have one in both.....but then thats like when you fit two pieces together ...you can always see the line in between...nothing bigger than that(dnt have a cam on me or else would have posted a pic)....and am really sorry if your hinge broke...call up dell.....and get it replaced ASAP

Bro, your good. Your suppose to have vertical gaps , 4 total, two on each hinge pieces when it is open

And when it is closed, your supposed to have a horizontal gap or line too. You seem OK

There are plastic clips in the back of the hinges so you can try squeezing them together in back. If they don't click in then they're fine.
