Hardware Monitor is saying the battery's wear level is at 7%. Is that about right?

I've had mine since September, and mine shows 0% wear o_O

TBH, it really depends on how many cycles the laptop has seen, as well as how hot the battery gets...

Now it's saying 4% wear. I guess it's just not accurate?

Could be an estimate of true wear based on current usage?

Weird, mine is around 6 months and only use 6 time (once every month to drain the battery to around 20% to keep it at best health) and HWMonitor show 0%. But you're not the only one here have a read at Tyler27's threads:

    1. wear level 5% after 2 months

    2. wear level now 11%

i've had mine since last week of december. so far 0% wear according to hwmonitor. I keep it plugged in at all times. never run it on battery. will this hasten my wear(given the post that cgsdr drains his bat once a month)?

Yes, not cylcing the battery takes a toll on the battery, but so does over cycling the battery. I recommend just using it as you need to, unless it is strickly used plugged in,nthen doing A monthly cycle on the battery is a good thing.

only let the battery die once every month or maybe two, the battery only has a limited amount of full charge cycles, also avoid excessive heat, if you plan on gaming for an extended amount of time i recommend a laptop cooler or just remove the battery during long sessions

I've had mine since mid-August, so about 5 months. My wear is at 5.7% I usually keep it plugged in, but I probably get a charge cycle in every two or three days. Lately though, I'm on average probably doing 1.5 charge cycles a day. (I've been taking it to class more often.)
