Whenever the launcher comes up there's a tab to select from the graphics card and it only shows the Intel card. I've added the game, the launcher to the list and yet the game still suffers from poor framerate because it won't detect my dedicated card. I'm on Windows 8 if it matters. Can anyone help?

Have you checked your optimus settings? Have you tried switching from your integrated GPU to discrete...Fn+F5 reboot

As an aside: when asking for help you should fill out a proper ticket. Include hardware and software specs plus your latest nvidia driver.

Did you reinstall your OS recently? If yes, have you installed the Intel GPU driver before the Nvidia driver?
If the drivers are properly installed, you should be able to force the game to run with the Nvidia GPU by making a right mouse-click on the .exe of the game and select " Run game on Nvidia GPU" (or something similar to that) ;)

Using the Fn key should help. Also make sure you right-click the game's launcher and select... Run with nVidia High Performance GFX processor.

Not sure how the FN + F5 is suppose to work. Do you want me to do it during reboot? Also, I've tried right click method already. Some further information:

    M14x R1, and I upgraded from win7 64bit to win 8 pro 64 bit

To the best of my knowledge, AW has a hotkey to switch from integrated GPU to dedicated. The Fn+ f5 and then a reboot is typically the procedure.

If you Google AW and fn + f5 you'll see a lot or people commenting on it. However, I have noticed that is the same hotkey combo for display brightness, not sure where the disconnect is. I think you can also do it manually in the bios

Fn+F5 won't work on the R1, since you said you had Windows 8 I assumed you had an Alienware 14 (new model). I would recommend you to give the game a try on Windows 7 with the DELL drivers since Windows 8 isn't officially supported on that platform and may experience this type of issues.
