Occasionaly when every i do something it has lag spikes. Browsing the web/Playing games/Watching videos. Ive had this on for the past day though so it might be overheated im not 100% sure the tempatures say that its around 80 but idk why its like this. this started happening 2 days ago. right now i shut it down and im going to use my old laptop for now

Try use programs like HWMonitor, Real Temp, Core Temp or Open Hardware Monitor to measure the temp.

If it is overheated, you computer would likely to auto shutdown rather than having lag spikes. And for lag spikes, it would usually result of your HDD's symptom of Hard Drive Failure (I experience that myself, on my last HDD failure few weeks ago).

Well, your HDD isnt going to fail, unless you having 2 or more of the symptom I had below, because from my experience 4 week before my HDD actually fail. I would got countless BSOD like for eg:
    - if I leave my laptop on for more than 12hrs.
    - like opening a .jpeg file took like 5mins to open just one file.
    - Random BSOD on idle
    - lag spike while watch/listen to video/music
    - BSOD on defragging a Drive (Even in Safe Mode)
    - starting Windows and at boot screen took nearly 5mins
    - Hearing a clicking or high pitch sound coming from the HDD

But however it has nothing to do with having a high CPU temp. I found out that my HDD is failing by on the boot screen - Pressing F12 > Dell Diagnostic > Wait for the test to finish, and write down any error code then Call Dell.
