Just wondering, if we will ever be able to upgrade the battery.
-
Not sure about 'upgrading' but you can certainly replace it if you need to. Keep in mind, your original battery carries a 1 year warranty from date on system invoice. If it fails or exhibits any issues during this 1 year, contact support and they will dispatch out a replacement.
Installing is very easy -

Well by upgrade, I mean...if there will be better batteries out later on.
-
its the same battery as the m11x so if they made any for that maybe
-
A dell rep told me doesnt matter how many years service plan you have, normal battery wearout/degrading is only covered for 6 months.
-
... well, that sucks
-
The rep you spoke with was incorrect. Review the terms of the warranty and/or call again. The battery on every system is covered for 1 year from date of invoice.
-
I totally agree. This is exactly what I was told and what I am aware of. The battery is covered under the 1 year warranty.
-
does the extended warrenty cover the battery as well?
-
What would the cost of a replacement battery be, and how long can we expect dell to sell a battery that will fit this laptop? 2-3 years?
-
No, it does not.
The replacement cost would be whatever the battery price is for the 11x/14x battery on the Dell accessory site for your region.
Batts are not appearing on the US site so if you are in the USA, you'll need to call sales and ask about price.
Part#: 08P6X6
We'll see batts for this for years to come... they still sell old inspiron batteries
Is the battery replaceable?
