So yesterday I opened up my m14x after a quick trip to my friends to play dayz and it looked like it had a bubble under the screen. At first I couldn't get it to go away. Eventually I tried leaning the screen back farther, and it started to dissappear. It also starting making a popping sound as it went away. It's now gone and there are no signs it was ever there. Has anyone ever had a problem like this? It was very strange and hasn't happened again.
I don't have a screen protector btw.

I have heard of this before. This happens when the plastic outer cover of the lcd gets pushed up against the glass on the actual lcd. It then sticks to the screen and makes this strange bubble thing. Try rubbing lightly around the bubble to get it to pop off.

I got that once, when I had put my m14x in my backpack, and then placed the charger just besides it. The charger made pressure against the top lid, and that causes those strange patterns to form on my screen, but it did went away after some time. I suggest avoiding any type of pressure onto the top lid.

I just came here to give an alternative solution, same thing happened to me because I put the laptop on my backpack with the monitor facing my back. Either way rubbing lightly didn't seem to help mine since it was a bubble of a substantial size and when I rubbed from inside out the bubble did a sticker peeling off sound and actually made it worse. I will explain how I separated it below, but be aware my bubble was in the middle of the screen and about 4 inches wide 2 inches tall. I suspect that bubbles to the extremes of the monitor may not work as well with the method.
My solution: CAREFUL THIS MAY HARM MONITOR IF NOT DONE WITH CARE. Carefully open the laptop to it's limit and very gently push it a little bit farther from it's limit, so as to make pressure on the front of the screen. The plastic cover will slowly (or rapidly) start separating from the LCD, keep the pressure until bubble is gone. If bubble is not completely gone and just reduced I suggest trying to rub it gently with the new sized bubble rather than pushing harder back since this may be more risky.
Hope it helps like this forum helped me. -
You can also bend the top left and right corners of the lcd lightly, this will have a similar result.
Mine has been getting this bubble alot since I put my razer mouse pad inbetween the lcd and the keyboard. -
I had this happen also on my M14x R2.... I also tried rubbing the bubble but did not help. What I did was I took my suction cup of my car GPS and placed on the center of the bubble then pulled slowly. Came out with no problems. Hope this help some people.

Good idea with the suction cup!
I keep one in my laptop bags tool kit, never even thought to use it for the bubble screen though. -
OMG, I just had the same problem and it freaked me out. I found the way to solve it and I must register to tell you guys!!!!!!! step 1: open your laptop in the normal position; Step2: push the center of the outer cover of your laptop (the outer side with the alienware sign); Step 3, at the same time hold the edge (I tried the top edge) of your screen and try to open the plastic cover a little bit.
That's it ! one hand pushing the outer cover and one hand open (a little bit) of the plastic cover on the very edge of the screen. The reason of this bubble is because the outer cover of Alienware is not flat (we all love the the special design of this baby, so we must pay for it), and the center is slightly higher. So if you push on the top of the closed laptop, normally the center of the screen would get extra pressure, and then the screen protector sticks on the real screen. So basically its not a air bubble. its two layers stick together. And your goal is simply to loose them apart.
To avoid this kind of situation : not to put extra pressure on the laptop especially when you put it in your backpack, Eg place a heavy book or charger or something else ~ also not to place anything between the screen and the key board because when you close the laptop lid, it gives extra pressure on the screen~~~Also, when you put Alienware in your backpack, dont let the lid side face the back side of the bag (the side that touches your back), you should face it to the outer side. so there would be no extra pressure from your back. -

Well at least you guys had it sorted out easily, it can be very scary though haha.
