Hello, I've had my M14x for a month now and it's great apart from the Killer 1103N. My system came pre-bundled with it so I had no real choice.

Now I've had a replacement card sent to me by Dell and I installed it yesterday but still playing with WiFi is a No-no.

Before I had a constant packet loss of 5%, now on ping test I get 0% but in any game I have twice the ping if I would use a LAN cable and 'bout 10 lag spikes every minute.

Now I actually ran lots and lots of test, I played with my G1S fine for years with Wifi [both with an old G and my current N+ router]...but I just can't get why won't it work properly

My Router is a D-Link 2740B hardware revision C2, set on channel 2+6 [it's free...I have screenshots of inSSIDer and router settings], I've tried all possible drivers from Bigfoot (they all SUX) and now I'm running generic Atheros drivers.

Oh I also tried changing the channels on the card itself [the M14x has only 2 antennas] and now i'm running Ch0 and Ch2.

Now I was thinking of swapping for an intel 6205/6200/6250 provided by Dell in exchange for my current Killer card.

Any advices? Cause I just can't get my head around this...

In all fairness you can't compare ping you would get over wireless with ping you would get through lan cable.

When with a LAN cable i get 43ping in game, and 80+ ping in the same game using WiFi @100% signal strength I think there's something wrong.

Strangest thing of all in all browser tests the results are the same...I can't get it why it won't work properly in-game.

Cant say i'm an expert i'm afraid! But have you checked what priority the game is set to in the killer software? I have BF3 and origin set to high, so whenever i'm plahying that, the virus scanner cant steal my bandwidth updating!

But yes, wireless is ALWAYS worse than wired. Wired is the way forward if you want the best possible network connection. Wireless is there as a fun thing to have!

    You think THIS is normal?!?

    vlc record 2011 10 25 22h26m52s ava 2011 10 25 22 22 14 37 avi - YouTube

I mean I played for 4 years with my G1s using Wifi and had an acceptable trade-off using WiFi (+10-15 ping @10 meters from router and occasional lag spikes...now it's outright impossible doing so.

And yes I set priority to highest....but it has problems with generic Atheros drivers also...And I diasable antiviruses and auto updates when I play...I'll make a video using my old notebook but the difference is mindboggling, to say the least.
