    Hi all,

I'm having issues connecting to my 5ghz wifi with my m14x. 2.4ghz is fine but is very crowded in my area so slow, whereas I'm the only person in range with 5ghz wifi.

My phone (google nexus 4) connects to the 5ghz wifi without issue. The router is a netgear r6300.

I've updated the drivers to the latest ones from the killer site, 6.1.0.395 I believe, but this makes no difference.

When I first boot I can see the 5ghz wifi, but it fails to connect to it, and it then the ssid vanishes until I reboot the laptop. rebooting the router has no effect.

Starting to wish I'd gotten the Intel WLAN rather than the gimmicky atheros one...

you may want to check that your router isnt set to only use 802.11ac on 5GHz. Im dont know anything about the 6300 other than its capable of ac on the 5GHz channel. it may be the default settings say ac only on 5GHz. I know most N routers I have dealt with have options to limit connections to N only, so I could only assume there would be something similar with a 802.11ac router. it sounds like you have never got a usable connection so I think this is where I would check first. good luck!

I would have done had my phone not connected to 5ghz ;)

But it's resolved now, it seems there are issues with the drivers from the Killer site, but the Dell drivers work. Seems a little strange but whatever, it's working now!
