I have yet to notice a difference with it. Of course I have not really tested it out too much. But as of right now it seems to work like most other wireless cards for me.

It works as wireless quite happily. it was annoying having the itunes issue, but now resolved with latest drivers. But it is handy being able to prioritize traffic. so my virus scanner update is now low when BF3 is up (highest priorirty for traffic) and seems to help me load L4D2 levels quicker too as the wireless is dedicating all traffic to the game!

I don't think it's worth the extra 80. I got the intel 6250 because my intel wifi link was acting up. I suggest you dont get the stock intel 1000 wifi link because a lot of people are having issues with them, i was one of them. Don't upgrade your wifi card through dell either.

16 bucks free shipping from the US. If you can install ram, you can install this card. Its right under the Battery.

on a side note from all the reading i did, seems like the killer wireless card sees the most improvement in public and college/university type networks.

maybe something to think about if you use your laptop in those areas

    Edit - my mistake.
Heavily edited to remove erroneous claim.
Original posting was misleading as I confused machines in the routers DHCP table. There were two entries I attributed to the M14X but in fact one was my work laptop. Both use Atheros chips. The MAC addresses of both are shown with Vendor ID Liteon when you look them up on the web.

I installed a Bigfoot 1102 after research seemed to indicate that the 1103 just has an additional antenna which cannot be connected in the M14X anyway.
I haven't particularly noticed a performance difference compared to original Intel wireless - though I made no attempt to benchmark it.

Bigfoot do make great NIC cards, but in the case of a wifi card, i really don't see why it would be a great improvement. I'm not saying it wont, but I really doubt its noticeable. Anyways, just stick with the stock wifi, intel wifi link 1000. If you arent liking it, get the 6250 like i suggested earlier for 16 bucks, or the killer 1102 for like 45 dollars on ebay. Either way you go, don't upgrade through dell is what im trying to say.

For that price, absolutely not. I spent US $45 for a Bigfoot 1102 on eBay and wish I would have spent half that much on an Intel 6200/6205/6250. The Killer's hardware is fine, but it's the software that's problematic. Up until yesterday, I had been running generic Atheros drivers because the Killer's software is bloated, buggy, and crash-prone. I did install the recent beta drivers Bigfoot Networks posted, and so far so good. The iTunes issues have been resolved, but it remains to be seen if the network manager software (the other half of the equation that makes the Killer unique) is stable over the long haul.

Edit: And now the fixed iTunes bug has been replaced by the inability for the card to reconnect to my network after resuming from sleep. Back to generic Atheros drivers. Those work wonderfully, but if I wanted generic, I would have stuck with Intel.

I bought my m14x with the wifi link 1000, and then upgraded to the Killer N 1102 (for 40 bucks) installed myself and it seems to be working faster and clearly has better range.

I've the Killer 1103N [my M14x had it preconfigured with it as it was part of a discount package] and it's been a big problem ever since. Sometimes it freezes, it wont reconnect properly after sleep, in game it's absolutely unplayable as I get constant lag spikes, and if I use the game optimization something in the 1300 ping range. Basically it doesn't work.

Hell I've had a replacement card sent by Dell but it still doesn't solve the problem...

And my 4 years old ASUS G1S has no such problems...

Do NOT... I repeat... do NOT buy the 6250 model 622AGXHRU as linked previously. I mistakenly purchased this model for $22 when I received my M14x. The 622AGXHRU model is a Russian model that does not support 802.11n, only a/b/g. Please see here: http://download.intel.com/support/w...trino_advancedn_wimax_6250_product_brief1.pdf

The penultimate page shows the two models. The model you need if you want 802.11n is 622ANXHMW.

EDIT: This one should be the correct model. $17.99: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Intel-622AN...183?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19ca810bbf

Heard back from Avadirect and they said they should have the N 1102 back in stock in a week or two and when they do it will be back on their site.
