I'm having lag issues in bfbc2 with the Intel 6205. Sometimes the game hangs with everyone still then a few moments later everyone is in a a different spot like I was stuck back in time and everything just updated. Very annoying when this happens and someone kills me while I can't do anything. The signal strength is maximum.

I'm really having doubts about this card. On my desktop (wired to the same router) I have experienced absolutely no lag.

Is it possible to to take out the card and switch to the killer card? I'm assuming so as everyone is talking about it being on ebay but is there a guide with photos?

Yes you can swap in the bigfoot card, but it sounds to me like you gpu is not set to max power in your power plans.

How do I set to max power? do I just set the power option to high performance as opposed to balanced or is there a separate option for GPU?

    Hey guys,

I'm on full power and fraps reports that the fps is around 40-50. The game sometimes hangs (everyone stuck in same position) then next moment updates itself. You can see a potential problem when I'm in a firefight in bfbc2. This occurs even though I'm plugged in and on full performance settings.

@fortnax how much would the shipping cost be if you ship to New Zealand? Standard shipping to USA and Canada looks very expensive.

Recieved my m14x with the Killer 1103, can't say I'm that impressed with the network manager, seems to take over my applications without permission and had to turn the feature off. Wish I could uninstall the manager and just use drivers but can't find a way.

Nope. Both the driver and the application work together to accelerate the wireless. There isn't a driver only option. I know, the application makes some modifications to you Winsock stack and lets you prioritize traffic by application. I mean, ya it uses memory, but I don't think it's any significant amount from what I've noticed. Games don't all of a sudden start crashing if the software is running. I mean isn't that the whole point of having the card in the first place as opposed to a run-of-the-mill Intel one? Let them do what they are designing the card/software to do or else send the laptop back and get another with an Intel card and see how you like it? I'll tell you right now, those Intel cards are not all that great.

Did your M14x ship with the latest driver from Bigfoot's site? Once it did the speedtest.net test and put the values into the application. My Network Manager just sits in my tray and doesn't bother me.

No I didn't get the latest drivers shipped, downloaded them from Bigfoot's site. I had a problem logging on to Windows Live Messenger over Xfire, never had that problem before until I went looking in the Killer Network manager and it was the cause due to priotizing traffic.

Sounds like a minor problem. Just configure it once and move along.

Thinking about buying the m14x and upgrading the card myself... does getting to the wireless card break any warranty stickers?

Thanks! $45 on ebay vs. $80 from Dell is easier to stomach for my wallet. I found them for like $32 from AVA direct but they want $15 for shipping.

As an alternative, you can install the driver for the Atheros AR9382 (AR5BHB116). You can download a "generic" version -- just google. Also, HP has a newer version of the driver but you would need to edit the .inf file (to be like the generic version) so the installer can identify your device.

I've just managed to get my 1103 working via inf files so don't have the manager and haven't had any problems now.

so the wireless card connects to my network, but the bigfoot killer manager program keeps crashing. don't really know how my wireless works if the program isn't working. every time i try to open the manager, it crashes. called AW tech support to see if they could figure it out...can't seem to and has resorted to searching various forum boards for a solution lol.

Are you getting a specific error when it crashes? The companion software uses .net so make sure you have that downloaded and updated from Microsoft.
