    hey guys

    Well , I have m18x and m11x , i bought the m11x to be able to game more in coffe shops / watch movies easier on trains etc. in other words mobility.
    not long ago i saw the m14x in a store and it was alot smaller than i thought. so i figured maybe i should sell my m11x and buy M14x ?
    thing is i read some bad revies about the m11x , saying the battery lasts shorter than the one in the m11x , and that its too heavy for a 14 inch notebook ?
    was just wondering what are ur thoughts about this matter ?

    thanks

    The M11x cant beat the m14x in terms of mobility, but the m14x is still really mobile. Its heavy and thick for a 14 inch computer, but its still the actual size and dimensions of a 14 inch notebook. The m11x being more of a 12.5/13 inch notebook kind of makes me think the m14x has more "performance per square inch" if that makes sense. Still, if you already have the m18x I say keep the m11x unless you really need more gaming power. I think youll appreciate the longer battery and being able to really game full power on battery.

    m14x = moderately-high powerful, medium battery power
    m11x = moderately low - moderately power, high battery power/efficient

    each has its own purpose (i own both btw)... if you're a school student with little access to a power source but don't need heavy usage - m11x is your laptop... and the m14x is more like your superpowered average battery powered laptop (my favorite laptop, been through many - replaced my desktop and i don't regret it). if you have an m18x already your m14x is probably not the best choice for you unless if you want something more portable but still able to handle most programs, m14x is it.

    i like both but love my m14x (usually have access to a power source though - so if i didn't i'd choose my m11x, can handle most of my stuff). btw - i ordered 2 from the dell outlet refurbs and was happy with them both (both looked like new).

    ^ i concur with the above statements

    you guys could spell check though because "The M11x cant beat the m14x in terms of mobility" should be the other way around >< it confuses me with all the typos

    of course i have to say that i am HAPPY with both laptops - just that i am happier with my m14x since i am often near a power source and the screen is fantastic for my uses (video games and everything else). battery power isn't great like the m11x but the trade-offs are worth it to me since i like not having to use a desktop and being able to go wherever and feel like i have desktop power. but never write off the m11x as useless!!! i used it for more than a year and was happy with it, just wanted something more "in the middle" (and in the middle for alienware always includes boatloads of power via gpu and cpu... if you choose the m11x MAKE SURE to check out unclewebb's posts on throttlestop - he created a program that enables you to utilize more of your underclocked CPU in the m11x and use what you PAID for... totally made my whole m11x experience much better).

    edit: also, SSD's will make this more enjoyable - but i think if i had a choice of choosing between an SSD and a hybrid HDD/SSD (such as the Momentus XD - would definitely go for the more affordable and more consumer-oriented hybrid drive, MUCH more space and has a good speed on it - not as much as an SSD, but able to give you most of those benefits while not completely sacrificing space/speed for each other)... make sure to not get too much RAM unless if you're going to utilize it (gaming = not worth it to get more than 4gb or at most 6gb if you're going to run stuff in the background)... if you need more you'll KNOW (such as OS virtual).

    glad cause it looked like you purchased an m11x... good choice in my opinion cause it's extremely mobile and if you need to move around you can still move around your m18x and have your power if need be. good choice Kam!!!
