Gearsguy, thanx for your reply, actually i think i found the origin of the problem. Without the DVDRW plug in everything works fine. The cable of the DVDRW its ok b4 someone ask, i knew i have to unplug the white cover b4 loose it. the worse is that my windows 7 dvd its inside and thts not hole to press with a pin to take it out!!

yes is the DVDRW or maybe the flat cable though it looks intact. now the DVDRW dont even appears on BIOS.

i just call Dell USA and have been told that they can cancel the order and replaced the whole laptop... is kinda weird since i bought it from amazon... they should send me an email on monday.

beside that, DVD inst a big problem for as i dont often use it, im just afraid could be something related to the conection on the motherboard or the sata chip ... is the same chip of the HD? ... do you guys think worth buy an optical bay?

is there any way to test this optical driver outside from M14x?

Dont know the answer to your questions, but just thought Id drop in that I think you can get the warranty transferred as I think Dell warranties can be international.

Sounds like they are going to replace it, if so since your in Brazil I think I would keep it stock. Sounds like the ribbon from the DVD is messed up when you swapped the Hard drives. Best of luck. ;)

I got an idea to test if is a Drive problem, Flat cable or Port. Im not at home right now but i do think that the optical drive has the same conector from HDD Sata so i can plug in the SATA conector and see what happens.!
