You can't expect it to run full tilt on battery. All gaming laptops downclock some on battery. 450 is reasonable IMO.

Has anyone been able to OC the GPU on battery with A03? I desperatley need a performance increase on battery. I tried using Afterburner and Precision and both reset the speeds when I hit "apply".

Not gonna happen. As has been said numerous times in this thread, the GPU downclocks on battery, and quite severely so with the most recent BIOS. People have reported using overclocking utilities to get the clock rate up to around 75% of stock while on battery, but any more than that will overload the battery and force a shutdown.

I realize it downclocks on battery, thats why i want to OC to about 400. Someone about 7 posts back siad they were able to override the downclock and set it to 450. I tried and was not able, so that is why i was looking for clarification. I was thinking there is some setting I missed, maybe that poster who said he overclocked to 450 was A01? I can not change any speeds at all with afterburner on battery (havent tried plugged in), everytime I change a setting and hit "apply" it reverts back, is this due to being on battery and A03 or I am missing something in the settings? Thanks

Hi, unless you flash back to a01 you won't be able to downclock your video card. If you flash it back you should have no problem, just downclock it enough that the power draw will work with your battery.

Forgot to specify, I did it in A01. Never tried A03 so I don't know. It was done with medium power savings mode though.

guys... dont get wrong pls, but why you guys want OC the GPU? i got 70~100 on Black ops everything o max. I understand that im on 720p res and probably some game like crysis will require some down low settings, but really worth the risk OC a laptop GPU?
