Nvidia released new beta drivers today.
Made my own inf file attached below. Drop it into display driver folder works great.

I got about 100 3dmark11 increase.
Result -
-
yeah, my 3dMark11 score went up 100 pts as well from 1620 to 1716
I have my card overclocked to 740mhz.
that's a nice 6% increase! -
Ironically my 3dmark06 went down though I only ran it one time, i think it could have just been my processor but anyways I think this settles the which version of driver should I run argument hopefully. Also, thank you for beta testing my first inf lol.
-
HoN works now
-
whats HoN?
-
-
was it not working with the old drivers
-
does this driver works with league of legends?
-
I don't have it but you can always give it a try and let others know
-
-
my nvidia optimus is not working now.. when ever i select run with "high-performance nvidia graphics card" and click apply it will not apply the settings because when i right click the application and look at the default graphics card it says integrated graphics is default.
Any suggestion ? -
change your global settings to auto select perhaps
-
when you say "global setitngs" do you mean the drop down menu where you have the selection of high performance graphics card or the intergrated graphics or auto
i have tried auto on there and still no luck -
right click on the application when trying to run it in the start menu and click run as whichever you would like.
-
tried that and it just freezes on the wolf head thing you get on windows while waiting for the game to boot up. it did that before this problem though so i am ignoring that.
Thanks for the suggestion though. -
-
Re-installing video card drivers will only fix it..
-
Although what does changing global setting to high performance do ? I dont want it to be running high performance when web browsing on battery
+1 rep though because i can now play my game -
It is just weird with stuff sometimes, if you change it to high just watch the taskbar manager to ensure its off when you want it to be
-
-
negative, make sure you are searching for beta and archived drivers
-
Under which folder should I copy the modded INF file? -
XPS
I'm trying to get the same answer I copied the file to the display driver folder but it still gives me an hardware error message when trying to install the driver. Sorry to be a pain but should I copy and past through notepad to one particular system information file under the driver folder? -
you sure you have downloaded the beta drivers for the notebook and not desktop? as i made that mistake and had the same problem as yourself.
-
Thanks chqshaitan that's exactly what I did I just fixed it.
-
Just drop it in the display driver folder if I remember correctly.
-
Is this the one that works with our system LINK
-
I can't get this to install. It keeps saying
This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware.
I am downloading the driver from here -
NVIDIA DRIVERS 275.27 BETA
is where the beta driver is for notebooks -
hello. im new to the forum, just had a question..
Before i did the install I downloaded the file and put it in:
C:/ program files, nvidia corporation, then display folder. and tried installing the 275.27. its giving me an error. Am I doing it wrong? -
nope you do it in the driver download folder. After you extract the new driver you put it in the folder of the downloaded folder for display driver
-
ok guys, just to clarify as its easy when you know (but a nightmare when you dont) here is a list of step by step instructions.
Download http://us.download.nvidia.com/Windo...ok-win7-winvista-64bit-international-beta.exe
and http://forum.notebookreview.com/att...nvidia-v275-27-discussion-modded-inf-nvdm.zip (all credit to jetbo for the zip!)
dont double click on the video driver exe, right click and select extract to a folder( i have winrar installed)
navigate to the folder where you extracted the files to and then drill down 275.27-notebook-win7-winvista-64bit-international-beta\Display.Driver
open the inf-nvdm.zip(that you downloaded before) and copy the .inf file contained in this zip over the one in the display.driver folder.
Then go back to the top level of the extracted files and run the setup.exe, the driver should install then.
Good luck. If you guys are still having problems let me know and i will put a zip containing the latest nvidia driver with the modified inf on my ftp, and then all you will have to do is to run the setup.exe
Happy gaming! -

wow good results from the 3dmark 11 tests:
using the original driver no OC. 1322
Using the original driver with 700/1000 OC: 1540ish
Upgraded to 275.27 driver:
no OC: 1407
with 700/100 OC: 1650
That's a nice 7% increase. -
I just did the install whit the moded .inf. Nice and easy process whit all the tips on this thread. Thanks you all and +rep to the OP
edit:hmmm... I need to update my sig
edit2: It appear that I install the 275,33 whql (I had both 275,27 beta and 275,33 whql in download folder)
The moded .INF work perfectly great whit the 275,33! -
That was as easy as you can get. Love these forums. Thanks Sasquatch ( Did I misspell your name or did you ;} ) for the easy link to the files, although I did use the 275.33 drivers. Everything works great so far, the performance gain is very nice with the new drivers, and I don't seem to have any problems with optimus. I think my scores (my rig - 2720, 3gb 555, 8gb hyper x, momentus XT, 1600x900) compared to other people's scores proves once and for all that the performance gain by getting the 2720 over the 2630 and the 3GB over the 1.5GB video memory is negligible. If your not going to run multiple OS's (work related) at the same time and your not going to have to possibly run 3D video out like me (only instance where I could possibly see 3GB meaning anything for the video), the basic model is the way to go. Although I still prefer the 1600x900 screen, it's got the same gamut (45%, pretty bad actually), but it's got a better contrast ratio and is perfect for the screen size. I do recommend the seagate momentus XT (not a Dell option, I put it in myself), it loads windows very quickly as well as commonly used programs, believe the advertising this thing is a very cheap ($100 for 500gb w/4gb solid state cache) middle ground between hdd and ssd. The fan on this beautifully built baby is the only issue I have, would love to find out if a replacement can be put in that is not at the same noise level of a leaf blower (it is very quiet when on battery and not playing games).
3DMARK11 (275.33 driver)- no o/c 1416: oc (msi 695/1000) 1646
PCMARK7 (275.33 driver)- no o/c 3453: oc (same) 3651

I updated the inf its on the new nvidia graphics driver discussion release.
-
I was wondering, is this still relevant considering the time that's passed? I'm about to pick up witcher 2 and just wanted to double check!
-
-
-
Is it possible to trow it up on a ftp? I tried the guide but I still getting that error.
-
Just wondering if i install this driver, the optimus technology will worked like usual?
