    Cool Themes!

    But in the Videos on YouTube it always seems so fast and smooth.
    No matter what I tell the Alienware Command Center, it always keeps the slow speed and you can clearly see steps in the colour change.

    Any idea on this? I want my laptop to look as awesome as yours do :)

    You can change the tempo on the "edit" tab on the Command Center. But I think it only varies it with the pulses.

    I just had to ask, anyone encounter your theme automatically changing per game you play?
    I.E. I started up the Witcher II and my theme completely changed from the standard blue to all yellow... EVERYWHERE.

    Even talked to the alienware rep and he was baffled. I got this laptop last week and havent had the chance to mess with themes yet.

    I am not 100% sure but I believe that certain games will change lighting to fit the game, only certain games support this feature.

    There are some pretty cool advanced themes on it too. I dont have the creative touch to make my own however.

    SERIOUSLY awesome themes guys... I wish i was as creative lol.

    This was my first advanced theme when i first got my m14x. Not at all impressive but i just like it because it's simple :p.

    You can turn off the touchpad or any other element so it's plain black by editing the theme with notepad and setting the color to black. You can't do that in the alienFX app so that's pretty cool.

    Hmm, are you sure about that? It looks like I can make any element black that I want in AlienFX. To my knowledge it has always worked that way.

    *edit* Maybe I misunderstood. I think you meant that only the touchpad could not be set to black. I hadn't ever even tried that since like the poster below me said, it turns off anyway when I plug in a mouse, and when a mouse in not plugged in I want it on so I can see the edges of the trackpad. Neato on the notepad thing, never would have known about that.

    To disable the touchpad lights, I just disable the touchpad itself and use my trackball or a mouse. I usually game with a Logitech wireless m570 anyway.

    This is my theme which i made during a very boring uni lecture. Colourful wave that goes across the keyboard. The other lights cycle though a few colours in a reverse pattern and stay on blue for a while (the blue just looks awesome imo). Wanted to add more but there's a limit to the amount of actions that can be added!

    Yea some apps are compatible with Alien FX. IE: Battlefield 3 when u are in game keyboard turns white then turns red depending on health. If you dislike the Alien FX that goes with the game, you could right click on the Alien FX icon located in the taskbar and deselect Enable 3rd Party Effects.

    First post but been lurking these threads for a while as a guest.

    I have a m14x R2, I'm assuming all the themes posted here will all work with my R2?? And if so I have a few I can upload when I get home, one being a nice St. Patty's Day theme!!

    Yeah they will word with your R2, when you download them just pull them out of the zipped file and put the themes into the same folder, and you just double click it and the command center opens automatically with that theme. I even have my favorites saved to as shortcuts on my home screen.
