Could you try with WHQL 275.33 and overclock of 765/1080?
-
I have tried 275.33 and it freezes for me but sure I will try that overclock!
-
Please include the following
- Were the settings stock low, medium, high or adjustments?
- What resolution were you playing at? you may want to try 1280x720 as well just to see what the performance is like.
- core parking enabled or disabled?
Thanks for putting effort into this! -
gonna try it soon too, will post benchmarks when i can
-
Why isnt thr any difference between the overclocked and normal settings??
-
I really don't know
-
OP - you might want to take a moment and try the beta driver with 3dmark11. If you get an error and I think you will it's because using the method on youtube doesn't work to install the driver. This maybe why you are also getting crap performance and no difference with over clocking.
-
Heres a video I made. Im on the 275.33 driver and showing slightly poorer FPS
Intel i7 2630QM
1.5GB Nvidia GeForce GT 555m running at 765/1080
275.33 modded inf driver
4GB ram @ 1600MHZ
1600x900 (900p)

Thanks for taking the time to post that. V interesting. Looks like the M14X will do a good job when the code is finished and some optimised drivers are released.
I'd say the performance is entirely acceptable already. Especially if you drop the res to 1366x768... -
Great stuff!!!
Now I can preorder my copy of BF3!
-
Cool, I willing to drop the res even to 1280x720 if it worth the more fps.
EDIT: My GPU setting was:
Core: 701
Shader: 1402
Mem: 1000
But I dont think it would be any diff, well maybe slightly though
-
really good post def add rep for it.
ill prob lower res as i know nothing about overclocking. will try beta drivers with other games see if theres any probs -
Sorry to post this in here, but I couldn't find an answer to my question.
Could you please upload your modded inf or give a quick tutorial on how to get it to work correctly with the m14x?
I found a videotutorial on youtube, could also install the drivers, but my system refuses to use the geforce 555 and uses instead the onboard grafic card, even when I choose not to in Optimus.
Thank you and sorry again for off topic -
Cool cool good to know since the 555M is close enough to my 6750M, I'll prob be a few frames lower but all good in the hood to me. Thanks OP repped.
-
could someone please post the latest best drivers that is stable and perform best? please also post the modded inf and a quick guide on how to install as I know nothing about that. Thanks for the help!
-
Here is some footage at 1280x720. The graphics are maxed out. FPS does not dip below 27 and stays in the 30's http://youtu.be/PAZ0xUO2MtE
-
Is this with or without overclock?
I installed the same driver 275.33 but in device manager it doesn't say 275.33? But the date is like 6/15/2011
I followed instruction on the other thread and downloaded the driver and nodded inf, replaced in the driver folder and installed. How do I make sure I have the correct driver and it's actually working good? -
Don't post this public if so DICE will ban your youtube and your alpha trial key
-
anyone else having problems with the trial? When i click join game it opens in windowed mode, and i cant edit anything. It also runs at below 10 fps and then just crashes. I think its using the IGP...
really not liking origin so far.
can anyone help? -
I think that guy that posted in the comments on the video is correct. Don't worry about posting videos yet. Work with your config files and then post. He gets serious FPS in all his games and seems to know whats up.
-
I Just deleted both videos because I did agree to DICE's agreement and I don't want to be a jerk. They were nice enough to let my play their alpha, I don't want to turn around and back stab them. I will work with my config files and report back to you guys.
-
It is overclocked just look at his sign, 765/1080 is overclocked, the default is 590/900.
But I dont see any different between the OC's and the Stock one though :/ -
Thanks for the videos and the data on fps. I think deleting them for now was a good move...just wait until the beta and post without fear
But now at least we have a good idea of how it is going to run: very well in my opinion with a bit of optimization. Can't wait for my m14x! -
I will have videos showcasing my M14x playing BF3 they will be private on youtube so you need a invite no problem tho message me here with your youtube username and you shall receive. They will be going up today
-
Are they going to be with updated config files and on a machine thats optimized for BFBC2? (since the engines are somewhat close?)
-
i hope its just the alpha version but for the performance im getting on high it doesnt really look that good. 720p on high hovers around 30 fps with dips into the low 20s and sometimes in the 40s, but it doesnt look very good.
-
It wont let me PM you but could you send it to me? nporter19
Thanks -
@M14xKING
I would really appreciate it if you can send me a link to some of those videos. As it would help me make a decision on whether to purchase an m14x or a m17x. If possible, I would rather save the $ considering my other plans for the rest of the year.
You can PM me at my youtube account if you cant do it here. And once again, thanks alot! (youtube.com/thegambitvii)

No video but a good review nonetheless.
Battlefield 3 Alpha Review -
Hmm... i wasnt impressed with the screenshots. It looks like all low quality screnshoots to me. I hope this isn't how the M14x is going to look like. If so, then my $ is going elsewhere
-
I think the game is just that way... Not the notebook. Saying alpha is just that, alpha. I think his m14x is 1366x768 720p.
-
Maybe so. But it seems the videos i have seem look a lot better. That, or its simply because its in motion. I hope there will be another video of the m14x in action soon (for this game at least). How does the m14x do in bad company 2 multiplayer?
I simply want to run the game on high settings and play multiplayer with at least 20 fps. -
Hi M14xKing
