Can anyone share their SSD boot speed. I just wanted to make sure there is nothing wrong with my m14x.

Software - Download windows Boot timer and application Launch Timer

Just make sure you unmark "Always ask before opening this file"

    I'm using vertex 4 & c300 , they both give me 15sec , no matter what tweak I tried :( but my m18x could reach 8-9sec.

Also vertex 4 been randomly unable to be detected in bios.

A M14xR1 came into the office today with a SSD, it was using a Samsung 830 256GB SSD, I used a stopwatch to measure boot time from power drain to log in screen; 11 seconds. After a fresh windows reinstall, log in screen to responsive desktop was 2.3 seconds.

    M14xR1
    i7-2820QM
    Dell brand 8GB ram

I just put SSD in last night. Boot speed from after POST is 10 - 11 sec. Response from login to working desktop is immediate.

Love it. I'll see if I can download that tool tonight and get you some times.

Crucial M4 256GB. I had no problems installing and BIOS recognized it automatically. Windows installed no issue, and then I followed the thread on the proper driver installation order.

    Blazin' fast!

Try this , go start type in "user account control settings" , temporary "never notify" click "OK" then open window boot timer and restart.

Anything between 10-25 seconds is perfect, fast enough to me compared with my old desktop that took at least 2 minutes to load all start up programs.
